Selfishness or empty conceit is often expressed by building up oneself while tearing down someone else. The Bible commands us to "do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves." Life would be better. #selfishness
We're all under construction. God transforms our failures, sins, & pains, for getting us fit for serving Him. Through this process of redevelopment, we build character & strengthen our faith. God transforms our lives & experiences through the Holy Spirit to achieve His purpose.
God has given us the ability to choose good & evil. When we choose evil, He allows us, & those around us, to suffer the consequences of it. Instead of blaming God & questioning why He doesn't prevent all evil, we should be about seeking Christ, who cures evil & its consequences.
Being poor in spirit is recognizing that we have absolutely nothing of worth to offer God. It's admitting that sin separates us from eternal life. God offers us salvation as a gift, through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, the full payment for sin's penalty ❤️. #salvation
No one is "temptation" proof. Even mature Christians have weaknesses in their spiritual armor that make them vulnerable to a wounding attack by Satan. We must ask God for help, wisdom, & strength. Our greatest weakness may be our failure to seek God for help & our stubborn pride. #Temptation
Jesus left heaven's glory & came to earth to die for our sins, He saw us trapped between our sin & God's righteousness, with no way to help ourselves. He came in human likeness & took the form of a servant & died for our sins, so that we can receive forgiveness & eternal life ❤️. #Jesus
Aging often brings with it pain & loss. Many often wish they aren't in their winter years. If we're walking with Jesus, we should rejoice because heaven is far greater than our fleeting time on earth. We're sojourners passing through this world of suffering, sorrow, & calamity. #Aging#Jesus
During times of stress & exhaustion, people of faith can easily forget all that God has done for them. When we experience times of doubt, we can bolster a sagging faith by reading scriptural accounts of God's miraculous interventions & the Holy Spirit Himself. #God#HolySpirit
Experiencing trouble is a part of life. Jesus warned that "in the world you will have trouble," so believers should not be surprised when trials come. However, He followed this with encouragement: "But take heart! I have overcome the world". Trials increase your faith & strength.
From the beginning God made humans to be His representatives on the earth and to have dominion over every other creature in His name. We're the Lord's ultimate creation and masterpiece, created "anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
There may be times when you feel like giving up. However, when you focus on the goodness of God, and how He's brought you through a mighty long ways, you can gain strength and courage during troubling times. God is always faithful and someone we can lean on. He's there for us 🙏.
Every individual is not only known by God but also created with a specific purpose in mind. This truth should inform our understanding of human life and dignity. God knows us thoroughly, our thoughts, feelings, and needs. He knows us better than we know ourselves. #God
Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God is an expression that entails submitting in a spirit of humility to God's sovereign dealings in your life. It means trusting God and accepting His will, no matter what hardships He allows. God's power is made perfect in our weakness. #Humility
Fearing God means having a reverence for Him that greatly impacts the way we live. The fear of God is respecting Him, obeying Him, submitting to His discipline, & worshiping Him in awe. True wisdom comes only from understanding who God is & that He is holy, just, & righteous. #Reverence
Hebrews 12:15, warns us to "see to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." Is there someone who needs to hear a forgiving word from you that would lift a burden or regret? Allow God to plow up those bitter roots. #forgiveness
The primary way we gain godly wisdom is by learning God's Word. Godly wisdom starts with reverence for God & results in living a holy life. Worldly wisdom, isn't concerned with honoring God, but with pleasing oneself. Godly wisdom is crucifying our flesh & living in the Spirit 🙏.
Christianity goes beyond words & is revealed through our actions. To walk in darkness denotes a sinful lifestyle, persistently engaging in actions that God hates. Living in darkness revolves around self-centeredness, satisfying personal desires. We can fool people, but not God!
Ecclesiastes 12:1 emphasizes the wisdom of remembering the Creator in one's youth because, as one grows older, physical limitations begin to diminish freedom ultimately ending with death. How tragic for a person to sojourn through the prime of their life in vanity & not know God.
In a world filled with evil & darkness, followers of Christ have the opportunity to shine their light. That often means resisting the urge to do nothing. When faced with the choice between doing good & failing to do anything at all, we must always choose to do what's right. #sin
Psalm 15:1, asks a pivotal question of who may dwell in God's presence? If we're honest, we'll admit that we all fall short. Christ sacrificed for our sins once & for all, when He offered Himself. When we treat others with love & respect, we honor God. Follow the path of Jesus 🙏❤️.
Psalm 90, focuses on God's greatness, our human weakness, & our need for the Lord to provide grace for our daily needs. We're to seek wisdom & to live each day to its fullest for the glory of God. We're to live every day with maximum impact, using every moment to honor Him 🙏❤️.
We live in a world of entitlement, self-promotion, & impersonal virtual relationships. Many people have forgotten what it means to be kind to one another. Being kind to one another means finding a way to forgive rather than blame. Christ left a "blueprint" for us to follow ❤️.
The Book of Ecclesiastes, illustrates the meaninglessness of life when lived without God. Selected verses reinforce this theme, concluding that wisdom, riches, & labor "under the sun" from an earthly perspective, are empty & futile. The only path to contentment is to revere God.
Imagine if everyone before they slept, read a passage from the Bible, or meditated on a verse they had memorized from God. We'd all sleep better and the world would be a better place to live ❤️.
