We have a situation where the US treasury and Sovereign Wealth Funds are propping up financial markets and not making productive investments in Infrastructure except for data centers which use enormous amounts of water and electricity but which have shown little or no benefit to the economy.

J. Silverman in his book Gilded Rage about Elon Musk and Silicon Valley writes about how Saudi, Qatari and Dubai Sovereign Wealth funds help finance Musk’s companies, Crypto etc. The US gov’t is also subsidizing Musk and Crypto markets. Plus 2O billion given to Argentina to prop up the Peso.

Lots has been written about the effects of the deportation of immigrants on small businesses and farms but immigrants like all of us are also consumers, if a million are deported and those million spend $30k each, that’s $30 billion withdrawn from the economy and with the multiplier $50 billion.
