The Southern California Thoroughbred training roster recently lost two members with the retirement of Ray Bell and Eoin Harty’s decision to relocate to Kentucky on a full-time basis.

Jeff Siegel, whose selections were showcased in LA-area newspapers for more than 40 years, and, who in recent decades, was a fixture on racing TV shows, has died after an illness, Santa Anita officials said Saturday. A tribute will appear on DRF.com Sunday. #drf

Update from Santa Anita - Kyle Frey, whose mount fell in a two-horse spill in Friday's 5th race, is being evaluated in first aid, officials said. Frey off mounts. Jeremy Laprida, whose mount clipped heels and fell, returned to jock's room. Horses transported to the stables. #drf

Because of spill in Friday's 5th race at Santa Anita, Hey Demps, who ran second, was disqualified and listed as unplaced. Aside from race winner Ms Brightside, who was not involved in incident, revised 2nd thru 4th are No Other Like You, Lady of Power and Union Heiress. #drf

Kyle Frey is off mounts in 6th thru 8th races at Santa Anita Friday after he was involved in a two-horse spill in stretch of 5th race. Hey Demps, who ran 2nd, veered in, causing Blue Oasis to clip heels and fall. Frey's mount, Lita Way, fell. Both runners taken to barns. 1/2 #drf
