Is anyone reaching saturation point when it comes to hearing about the new presidency? The absurd pronouncements… the tsunami of executive orders signed with black markers… the plans to overturn the Constitution to hand #DonaldTrump a THIRD term in office. Enough. Enough.

Disgusting pig on my commute this morning. Sniffing very loudly with a heavy cold and thanks to his earphones, blissfully unaware of how revolting he sounded, he stood so close to me as we are arrived at London Bridge that I could almost smell the phlegm on his breath. 🤮

My Dad died three years ago today. It seems quite difficult to believe it… but the awful memories of that dreadful day - the call from the hospital, the hugely emotional drive to see him, looking at him lying dead in a treatment room, and the drive home - are as clear as ever.

On a train full of people listening to music and podcasts using earphones, there are always a few arrogant idiots that don’t care about anyone else and insist on playing their stuff out loud. 😠

If I walked ahead of people #vaping during my commute and started spraying aftershave or deodorant so that it hit them in the face, it probably wouldn’t take long before I were hit in the face… so why are so many people seemingly not bothered by having to dodge this awful stuff?

Anyone back in the office today and surrounded by colleagues telling you how ill they were during Christmas, or how poorly they are still feeling? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just seen a guy on the train reading ‘The Art of the Deal’ by Donald Trump and seemingly very keen to show everyone nearby that he was reading it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is it me, or does Christmas feel ages ago?

First, it was Stacey Solomon… and now, it seems to be Emma Raducanu. Who next, I wonder, will be the one who “didn’t realise that her microphone was on” and has caused a media meltdown and worldwide panic? 🙄

Hope that everyone has been having an enjoyable Christmas. It has been an odd one for me - I have been home alone, due to family reasons - and it is probably the first time in my life that I’ve spent it on my own. It is also the first one spent without my lovely parents, who have both died.

UPDATE: I watched #Wicked the other day and for me, the highlight was ‘Dancing Through Life’, not because of Jonathan Bailey’s wonderfully snug trousers and the homoerotic charge, but because the scene was so damn slick, so beautifully choreographed! It must have taken days to shoot!

Off to see ‘Wicked’ this afternoon in a fairly quiet and central cinema… and despite sounding like a party pooper, I’m really hoping that it doesn’t turn into a ‘sing a long’ screening that I didn’t pay to experience. 😬

Just walking around the house wearing my new Doc Martens and have been reminded how breathtakingly stiff and uncomfortable they are for the first week or so. They yield eventually and mould to your feet, but it’s quite a journey. 😣

I can’t remember the last time that I felt so unprepared or indifferent about Christmas. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just witnessed a couple of pathetic displays of machismo: a motorcyclist swerving aggressively in front of a white van (who are also not loved..), and a boy racer with a super-loud exhaust tearing up the road. You do wonder if these morons will make old bones or even stay alive until the New Year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Shouldn’t Donald Trump be preparing to do time, rather than appearing on its front cover? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just hearing about the 70% “tidal wave” of #flu cases being admitted to hospital, I am feeling quite relieved that I had the flu jab a month ago. That said, it is #norovirus that I am far more scared of catching this winter. 🤒

It’s an odd question from someone who has been working full time for quite a while… but when you leave work every evening, what are your tips for leaving the office in the office? How do you switch off? 🙏 #work #worklifebalance

A year to the day since my ma passed away.
She was 92… and I don’t think she wasted a single day of her long life.
Hope you’re sleeping well, Sal. x

How lovely to know that one of the finest actors 🎭 of her generation, Dame #JudiDench, celebrates her 90th birthday today. 🥳 I’ve met her a few times and as well as being able to recite large passages of Shakespeare, I love that she has a wicked sense of humour 😈 and has a fondness for champagne! 🍾

A bitter-sweet day for me. It is my Mum’s 81st birthday today, so I will raise a glass to her this evening. She died, aged 80, in April. ♥️

Relatively speaking, I don’t have many followers on X… but I am surprised and quite dismayed that, for some reason, I have lost over 70 of them in the last few weeks. I hope that being here on Blue Sky will be a happier and more solid experience. 🤞🏼

If you’re planning to do #Christmas shopping on Oxford Street, take a deep breath, sharpen your elbows, and know what you need to get. Kamikaze cyclists, garish Tuk-Tiks, confused shoppers, long queues, short tempers, and street preachers make it quite a challenge experience. 🤯

A note to people dining in pavement cafés: do not have your mobile phone on the table nearest to the road, especially, if there is a barrier between your table and the road. Someone can grab your phone and be halfway down the street with it before you get up. #mobilephonetheft

Wednesday night joke: I used to know an agnostic dyslexic insomniac. He used to lie awake all night, wondering if there was a Dog.
