89 - Presence (2024)
I love a ghost / haunted house story and thought the idea behind this was cool. #HorrorSky

Agreed! I thought Robert’s Blossom’s performance was great - he was genuinely unsettling.

88 - Deranged (1974)
Released a few months before The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) this is also a loose adaptation of the Ed Gein story and shares some interesting parallels. #HorrorSky

87 - The Dunwich Horror (1970)
I have wanted to see this for years. Some great 1970s psychedelic colour filters used in this.

85 - Cube (1997)
Often framed as a precursor to Saw (2004) and its character and trap based horror. It’s a cool film. It’s very 90s (not a criticism). Also, as a #StarTrek fan, I was happy to see Nicole de Boer AKA Ezri Dax from Star Trek DS9 in this too 😁 #HorrorSky

Some interesting ideas. I’ve not read the Manga that this is based on but I would be tempted to give it a look. #HorrorSky

81 - The Keep (1983)
Michael Mann’s original cut was rumoured to be 210 minutes long and the studio cut it to 96! It is very fragmented and silly but Ian Mckellen is always worth a watch #HorrorSky

80 - A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)
For various reasons I missed this when it came out last year. Which is a shame because it’s great. Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn are excellent….I also really like the cat 🐈‍⬛ #HorrorSky

A good mix of stories. I think the second story ‘Ut Supra Sic Infra” might have been my favourite. #HorrorSky

76 - Houseboat Horror (1989)
Cult direct to video Australian horror! This film has been called ‘the worst Australian movie ever made’ and ‘Australia’s Plan 9 from Outer Space’. It’s good silly fun and has Alan Dale from Neighbours in it. #HorrorSky

I watched Graham Hughes’ (@factionman.bsky.social) Hostile Dimensions earlier in this challenge and was eager to see his earlier film. It is excellent! Imaginative, clever and funny. I look forward to seeing whatever comes next. #HorrorSky

73 - Goodnight Mommy (2022)
It’s been a while since I’ve seen the original but nevertheless, I really enjoyed this version. It’s nowhere near as nasty as the original but I think this one is much sadder. Phenomenal performance from Naomi Watts #HorrorSky

72 - Speak No Evil (2024)
As far as remakes go, this is not too bad. This sidesteps the original’s decent into total bleakness. No spoilers, but a character wearing marigold washing up gloves during some big scenes near the end adds some unintentional camp value and humour.
