Just returned from an amazing Istanbul to Bodrum drive. We visited: two of the seven wonders; ancient cities: Troy, Ephesus & Pergamon, ID in the Bible as ‘Satan’s throne’; the moving Gallipoli war graves; & crossing the world’s longest suspension bridge. Also, I picked up a classic Turkish folk LP.

We had maxis.
I remember 2 holidays to France were the Car spectacular failed 1st the gear stick came out in my dad’s hand as we were driving on to the ferry. 2nd driving over the alps (wouldn’t do toll roads) the silencer fell off and we spent the next 3 weeks passing as an F1 car in disguise.

English councils to remain poorer than 2010 despite funding boost, says report

Exclusive: Impact of austerity cannot be undone by end of parliament despite above-inflation funding, analysis finds Councils in England will still be poorer by the end of this parliament than they were in 2010 despite Labour’s funding increases, according to analysis by the Institute for Government (IfG). Funding cuts from 2010 to 2019 were so severe that they left gaps that could not be filled even by five years of above-inflation increases, leaving local authorities increasingly reliant on emergency funding and capable of only providing legally mandated services, the report shows. What are the extra tracks, is it worth upgrading? I bought the OG back in ‘93 from Probe Records in Liverpool. And my records show I last played it on 27/7/25.
