One of the top scam strategies is rushing. There's some sort of urgency that needs to be addressed *right now* and you can't pause to question it. A lot of phone scams happen this way. I love wasting their time by being really slow and "looking" for my wallet/keys to get gift cards for the FBI

On the other hand, if you are someone reaching out to someone for the first time, best to lead with who you are and why you're messaging instead of just a "hi how are you" "question for you" because many scams and bots lead with this.

Apparently this scam is still going around. So I'm just doing a refresher on this. I've seen that they'll ask to add you elsewhere to send you "the proof" and will get access through you opening the "files". Stay frosty. Stay safe. Question every unsolicited message from someone you don't know.

I learned a lot about grief in school while actively grieving myself. It's the least felt emotion that we experience. So don't beat yourself up if it's hard to deal with. My biggest advice is to let it out. Cry, make art, write. Do something to get that feeling out. Sending you love ❤️

Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. It's got the scariest vampire I've ever read, stacked on top of an amazing psychological thriller angle of no one believing there's a monster. I actually recoiled and had to put the book down a few times.
