As far as I know, my city doesn't really get any Pokemon costumes in the first place. The one costume store in the city might have Ash Ketchum and that one tacky suit with the Kanto starters on it. Oh and like clearly bootleg onesies of Snorlax and Pikachu only.

It's been almost THREE YEARS and today was the first time I saw a toy of any Paldean pokemon in a big box store that wasn't a starter here. And it was just a tiny Jazwares Charcadet.

I understand Kanto in the game shops that cater more to the 30 y/o's but the child school stuff makes no sense

Excluding outliers who are getting older, less popular games, the youngest kids who would've started with the Kanto starters are around 13 now and probably not getting school supplies next to the finger paints.

It's weird that they aren't being sold THEIR starter Pokemon or cool modern legendaries.

It's wild seeing that all the Pokemon school supplies in the toy section just have the Kanto starters

The demographic of kids buying their school stuff in the toy section did not start Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur (obviously Pikachu is eternal)

this happens plenty in the anime when the battle moves around and it's not particularly noteworthy since the pokemon can hear their trainer and knows where they are
