The party considered this, and decided to see where this path would take them. They retired for the evening and made plans to return to Taldor as Ninshabur was located in Casmaron, far to the East of their homeland. (the party hit level 5 at this point).
Kreighton sat with them and read his translation to the party, most of it was cryptic but some parts were clear. He believed the party had been chosen by fate to pursue the clues which led to the ancient empire of Ninshabur, long a ago destroyed and now a ghost-ridden wasteland.
The party made it to the sea cave, only to see the ship sail out into the harbor and out of sight. There were several slavers present and a fight broke out, but the party won this easily. They retired back to the Pathfinder Lodge to discover the secret of the inscribed gem.
Urtox showed them the entrance to the hidden tunnels, and the party descended in quickly finding the tail end of a line of prisoners being escorted by some guards. A fight started, but all of the prisoners were pushed ahead while a few guards delayed the party.
Chelliax had been the Cartel's main trading destination, but with slavery now banned they needed to go elsewhere. Brina, being a champion of Iomedae, could not let the slave operation continue. The party charged back to The Brine where they found and destroyed Urtox's sigils.
The Salt Cartel is a slaver operation running out of tunnels and a hidden sea cave beneath The Brine. Prisoners are taken to slave ships and sent off to other countries to be sold. The red-haired woman was a slave broker working with Lady Seichya, but they need a new market for their slaves.
The party refused to sign a contract with a devil, but heard him out. In exchange for information regarding the missing prisoners, the party would need to destroy the binding sigils kept at The Brine. Urtox was forbidden from doing so himself. The party agreed and found out about The Salt Cartel.
When Urtox arrived with the inscribed gem, the party gave him the Tear in exchange. He also revealed that he is bound to Lady Seichya through an infernal binding ritual and that he would choose to be free of her. He revealed that he is a Bone Devil to the party and offered them a contract.
They laid low at the museum until the next day, and as a party they chose to take the Tear not to the ambassador, but to his daughter the warden of The Brine. She was pleased, but didn't have their gem yet. She arranged for her servant, Urtox, to bring it to them at the Pathfinder Lodge.
The party took the Tear and the dragon told them they had minutes before the guards would arrive, so they hastened back to their tunnel. Barry brought along a scroll of illusion that would temporarily mask the tunnel entrance and give them some time to run. They fled back to the museum.
He gestured to one door and told them the Tear lay beyond, and he told Kallida that his inheritance was in the opposite chamber. The inheritance turned out to be a magic sickle that had standard striking runes, but also a special teleport ability usable a few times per day.
When asked why he was guarding the vault, he replied that he was not guarding it, merely waiting here. He would not divulge any other information about his motivations. He gestured and two doors, hidden in the shadows, opened on either side of the chamber.
Callinus asked about his death and was told 'beware of clowns', and no further questions could cause the dragon to elaborate. The dragon told them that he knew why they were in the vault, and since they were not general thieves, but after specific items, he would help them.
"Your death is not in this place, so we will talk." This was the deep growling voice's first words to the party. The dragon told them that he had been expecting the party and that his nature is to see many potential futures simultaneously. He let the party digest this information and waited.
This 2nd door took less time than the first and, once opened, revealed a large, dark chamber full of gold bars and coins and a vast collection of valuable items. As the party entered the vault they could feel the air shift as a large dragon stepped from the shadows and addressed the party.

Barry was very delicate and deliberate as he moved the tumblers on the safe door. After several minutes a metallic 'thunk' could be heard as the lock disengaged. He pulled the vault door open to reveal a small 10' by 10' room and another vault door.
The party stayed close to Callinus and the Firehead and approached the vault door. Barry strode forward pulling several items from his toolbelt and began to work on opening the door.
The fight was five on one and Barry had warned them about this guardian, so Kallida had prepared electrical spells to help defeat it. It took some time, and several healing potions, but the clockwork soldier ground to a halt, billowing out small clouds of smoke.
The lower vault had runes etched in every square foot across the main area before the vault door, but The Firehead worked as expected and no runes were triggered. However the clockwork soldier guarding the vault sprang to life and attacked. The soldier attacked Brina and cut her deeply.
Once the wards were disabled, Kallida and Brina made their exit and hastened to the bakery to climb through the tunnels. They met up with the rest of the crew and confirmed they were good to proceed. Callinus activated the token he had, which negated runs within 15 feet.
Rownt excused himself to his office and began to snore at his desk. Kallida used a spell to assume the likeness of Rownt and made his way to the manager's office and began to deactivate the wards on the vault. Brina meanwhile had her fortune told by a pretend Harrow reader, all for entertainment.
Rownt gladly accepted the honey cake gift and devoured it. He failed his saving throw and became overly generous with information and help. He began to brag about how clever he was in setting up the wards and alarms on the vaults and told Kallida too much. The cake was also a sleep agent.
The night of the gala, Tarn, Callinus, and Barry made their way through the tunnel to the final wall into the bank vault. Brina and Kallida attended the gala, and Kallida immediately sought out the wizard. He found him in his office and was offered a small private tour of the bank.
Sanloria had also been busy brewing a concoction to add to a spiced honey cake that Kallida could offer to the bank wizard Rownt. The next few days were spent digging the tunnel at night and resting and planning during the day. Barry had drawn out maps of the bank from memory as well.
