My experience working in machine learning consisted largely of people who were convinced that they are extremely good at reading and math—despite huge gaps in their literacy and number sense—because institutions have continually told them that they are.
One hard part of the literacy problem in the United States is there are a lot of people -- some of them with college degrees and beyond -- who don't realize that they are bad at reading

I don't know how to reach those people

Her parents owe their lives to the United States accepting them as asylum seekers fleeing religious persecution in Iraq in the 1980s. She wouldn't be here if we had not offered her family safe haven.

The hypocrisy is stunning.
Habba: There were individuals that were saying that this should be a safe harbor, a safe haven. Why? America is America because we protect our own.

That’s exactly it. Trump was convicted of various types of white collar fraud, and he now pardons similar crimes.

He doesn’t believe defrauding others is wrong, so he doesn’t believe that the victims deserve restitution.

This was neither victimless crime nor victimless pardon.
