Has anyone attempted to track down this story? Beside the placenta angle, the rest of the story seems quite fabulous. It should be easy to check with Columbia.
I note that SILS has a very well respected archival science track. It would be disastrous for this to be discontinued or degraded. Archival science education is poorly represented in the United States, with UNC being one of the major exceptions.
He is untethered from the facts, to quote a recent court ruling. That everything he says defies belief seems to make him reach new heights of hyperbolic absurdity. He is simply not persuasive. Object of ridicule but dangerous.
I learned early in negotiating, don’t threaten anything you are not able and willing to back up. Once your opponent knows it is a bluff, you are done. You have to back down in humiliation, or push deeper into the hole. In this case, deeper is likely. Miller time.
