This was also my first time recording and mixing solo on a non-classical release and while it is obvious I still have work to do, I’ve come a long way from high school demos on a four-track Tascam!

I’ve never been the best solo artist so the idea for this project was to write everything and then get talented friends to record alongside. Joey did awesome tracking the strings and vocals for the track and we have some cool ideas for future tracks down the road.

This is amazing and the folks complaining about mileage loss on social media need to understand that public trails are for everyone and not just the racing crowd. Some trail design at T-bird was unrealistic for average folks and needs to be fixed. #mtb #trails

I have been refining the vocal takes on this track for about the same amount of time it took to produce all of the guitars, synths, drums, and effects. It’s crazy how a flubbed note or articulation in the vocal line stands out so much more prominently. #music #ableton #diy #izotopeishelpingthough

Finished today. Great game, worthy of praise. However, Act 3 was pretty unnecessary and did a lot of exposition to explain a lot of things that were fine being ambiguous.

Still, Acts 1 & 2 were masterful and well worth the playthrough.

I had a blast teaching applications of music technology for choral method students today! For software we discussed BandLab, Flat, Chrome Music Lab, Ableton Live, & MAX MSP. We also talked microphones in choral settings, PAs, and beginner synths like Otamatones, Pocket Operators, & Volcas. #musiced

I am required to use Pro Tools after years of work in #Ableton Live. I am constantly searching things like “how do I zoom” because nothing is intuitive. Does anyone have a video or webpage that shows basic functionality that isn’t tailored for complete beginners to audio? #protools #audio

Classical percussion: Never. I always have sheet music now.

Drum set: Almost always memorized, but pop gigs have click tracks which help.

I went with the basic DT 770 Pro after his assurance that everyone owns a pair and they still get used even after he upgraded to his Focal open backs. We shall see.
