OMG yes! What’s the line? Have you ever heard a ghost ask for eggs for breakfast? Something like that. And the dismissive She’ll be all right 10 seconds later. That scene is completely bonkers.
No, the one I saw was live action. And I think the kid died which was over the top and probably why I remember it. I couldn’t find it on the internet, but I gave up after one minute so maybe it’s there somewhere.
I’ve been reading the original James Bond novels in order (about one a year) and today I finished Thunderball which I didn’t enjoy as much as the others despite many enjoyable moments. But at least it had an amazing cover.
Today’s movie on the big screen was 1960’s The Apartment. I saw it once before about 20 years ago and didn’t love it because it’s billed as a comedy and it is not. But now the second time around I loved it.
No, it was all the TT hits and 2 songs from his latest solo album. It was pretty great because he doesn’t do many headlining solo shows, at least not in the US. Usually it’s an abridged festival lineup.
What an amazing day for retro 70’s folk rock. 1. Buckingham Nicks is finally available again 52 years later! 2. The Boo Boos (Eels & 79.5) release an album that is truly special. Feels both nostalgic yet fresh.
How many times did I have to sit through this f’ing preview trapped in a theater only for it to turn out to be a shitty movie? 32% on Rotten Tomatoes is low. Note: I was never going to see it, but still…
Work has been all consuming the last few weeks. It’s been frustrating but I realized that might be a good thing compared to the constant doomscrolling I’d be doing otherwise. Shit is fucked up y’all! Time for a drink.
Yesterday was spent at a memorial for my cousin who passed away earlier this year. The 2nd half took place at an art gallery which displayed her work (including this self portrait) alongside her mother’s art which was a beautiful tribute.
I have to admit that I hated it the first few times I heard it, but I think that is often the case with great works of art. I really love her new album too. (Even though it’s nothing like this one.)
