Not defending him, especially now that I've seen the tattoo in question. Dude can't be elected. I suppose if he were to publicly cut it off with a dull knife and without an anesthetic ...
Apparently not. I despise Andrew Cuomo. And I never said that Dems should have rallied behind Franken. Merely that tossing him aside for the offence he was accused of was supposed to help us win. It didn't.
Sure. Let's go with that.
More importantly, would you keep it, knowing you were about to embark on a career in politics, and knowing that people have seen it?
OK. Found it. Yeah, dude's gotta go.
Is there a photo of this tat anywhere? I've been looking but can't seem to find one.
Of course I do. A Democrat. A solid, if unspectacular, Democrat. Raised to the position by the useless and unnecessary destruction of another Democrat, said destruction gaining us nothing.
I know they made a great show of enforcing purity when it came to Senator Franken. I hope this one works out better, 'cuz we all know how far THAT got us.
To be fair to the guy, his identity was supposed to have been securely hidden by the glasses the kid stole off his face. He probably couldn't even see the foot that tripped him.

It’s going to take ages to pay all these people
I might have thought he would end with something like, "I WAS a stand up comedian, then I was a soldier, and NOW I'm a comedian again. However, standing up is a little harder to do these days ..."
Just so long as they find crimes first, and then go looking for perps to arrest, instead of the other way around, like Trump is doing.

I was just gonna say, as long as it doesn't begin with "Hey Hey Ho Ho" it's all good. Gods, that one annoys me.
Your insistence that Gaza is a genocide instead of "simply" serious war crimes, leaves out the part of the definition that requires an "intent to destroy ..." the group being targeted. I think that evidence of that intent is lacking. War crimes, yes; genocide, no.
While Prof. Nichols and I disagree on some things (Boston v Led Zeppelin not being one of them) we share the view that words like "Fascist" and "Genocide" should not be used lightly, for fear of them losing their power. Genocide is not the same as "War Crimes," which I think Israel is guilty of.
It's a legit question about whether the taking of the money would constitute a bribe as the law has been misconstrued in various SCOTUS decisions, but if he took the money and didn't pay taxes on it, then that would be both a separate violation as well as knowledge of guilt. Tom, meet Al (Capone).
I think we can safely assume he didn't give it back, or they would have said so, so my next question is, "Did he report it on his taxes?" and "If not, why not?"
What I'd love to see is the questioner simply abandoning the original line of questioning and asking, "OK. we told you we were going to talk about this. WHY are you not familiar with the subject material?" and not asking another substantive question until that question is answered.
One of my favourite quotes, .. uh, predictions from a conservative writer: "If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy." -- David Frum.
Don't Look Back. And also, don't look to Timmy's for a good cup of coffee.
