New Democrats have outlined clear priorities ahead of the Nov. 4 budget. Canada needs substantial investment to create good jobs, build affordable housing, and strengthen public healthcare. Now is not the time for austerity—the NDP won’t support a budget that takes that approach.

PM Carney: getting praise from Donald Trump, extending Golden Dome talks and promising 1 Trillion Canadian dollars going to the US in the next 5 years are not bragging points.
They’re also contrary to your campaign pledge to end deeper integration with the US economy.

Our heart goes out to all victims, families and communities affected by this assault.
This week also marks two years of genocidal war in Gaza that has taken tens of thousands of lives. 1/2

No one should be worried about their own personal safety when they walk into a synagogue, mosque or a church.

I share my condolences to the friends and families of the victims, and to members of the Canadian Jewish community who are forced to worry about their safety when they go to worship.

Places of worship should be a welcoming and safe space for people to pray and worship.

Today in Parliament I called for an emergency debate on the Liberals' plan to dismantle Canada Post. This vital public service connects communities, supports good jobs, and must be protected. Postal workers deserve respect. Canadians deserve better.

Home mail delivery was - and is - a nation-building project that connects Canadians across our country. Ending it will hurt many, esp. seniors, rural folks & businesses who rely on this crucial service.
And it’s not “Ottawa” who’s giving the green light - the Liberals are.

As other countries have done, Canada must protect Canadian citizens and ensure the safety of all on the Global Sumud Flotilla who are peacefully bringing medical and relief supplies to suffering Gazans. Recognizing Palestine is necessary - but words must be backed by action.

Canada’s recognition of the State of Palestine is an important step, supported by millions of Canadians and long advocated by the NDP. But this alone is not enough. Canada must work to achieve an immediate ceasefire, end the suffering in Gaza, and build a just and lasting peace.
