Design of my sona, Kande, for Halloween.
Her head is a open box with gift ribbon in the middle of it, tied like a bow above her head with its ends on each side. Her face shows big smile from end to end, with mustard colored cheeks, one of her eyes is multicolored and the other is missing, having a star shaped patch instead. Her head pops out her body with a spring neck, which has red and blue tape on it. Her attire consist on a navy blue trench coat with golden buttons and giant sleeves that hide her arms, with straps on each side.

Strongly based on Charlotte from Madoka Magica.

...illustrations I'd like to create. Even though the starting point was the same, the worlds that I imagine for these characters are different and worth exploring further. Sometimes there's a pressure to build a whole grand narrative and sometimes that can be expressed through illustration alone.

I originally created this character in 2019 and really enjoyed the design process! it's a shame to throw designs away when you reach the "final". Like an unwritten rule that somehow you're not allowed to go back to. For this character, multiple designs lead to multiple stories with diverging...

Sameee and I so get that! then I start overthinking a response haha! With the character limits especially, it feels hard to compile things in a nice way for a larger discussion but it's great when people do share as I think the whole process of art and the creation of it is so layered!
