I am a widowed old white guy that is on Social Security and Medicare, that I paid for all my working years, but fully support SNAP, LGTBQ rights, women’s rights, civil rights rights, etc. Why? Because I am an American and we used to stand for equality for ALL citizens and helping the poor.

I hope not, because that would 47 the excuse he is looking for; to declare martial law over the whole country and use that as a reason to suspend the 2026 elections, then declare himself President-for-Life. His supporters would go for that.

My theory is that they want all the poor people (those making less than $ 1 million per year) to starve, die of disease, pollution, or accidents, or leave, then they won’t have us to worry about. That would leave nobody to do the work so the rich would be doomed, but they can’t plan that far ahead.

So was Nixon, but he didn’t have a Congress supporting his illegal activities and had the good form to resign when he was caught. DJT blames the Democrats for his failures, including the shutdown, breaks laws and norms, and Congress encourages it. His supporters believe it, facts be damned.

I suspect the majority of Republicans did not read the ‘big beautiful bill’ but just signed it because their god/emperor told them to, just as they voted against the BIPARTISAN Border Act of 2024 because Trump, an ex-president, told them to. They seem to have no minds of their own.

Like they say, those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it, and those that suppress history intend to repeat it. I feel this is all deliberate to destroy America and turn it into an oligarchy, in which only the wealthy have any money, healthcare, rights, or votes.

The Orange One has declared Antifa and Black Lives Matter as terrorist organizations. Next I predict he will target women’s rights and LGTBQ rights groups, and culminate with the Democratic Party, honest reporters, and the BBC. In other words, everybody that speaks the truth or disagrees with him.

Let’s see, they claimed the No Kings protests were done by people who hate America, while they send troops to only Democratic citizens, authorize their ICE goons to attack reporters and arrest American citizens, tear down the White House without Congressional approval, and ignore the Constitution.

It is much easier to radicalize and incite to violence with a message of fear and an ‘us vs them’ mentality than it is with a message of love, acceptance, and equality. Therefore, the ‘violent radical Left’ simply doesn’t exist. His data probably all comes from Trump and Faux News.

The only problem with his statement is that ICE officers have full authority (as do the police) to fulfill their duties WITHIN THE LAW. Here’s the problem; ICE officers have been recorded breaking the law by assaulting reporters and arresting American citizens. Who has the right to stop that?

The sad truth is that Trump raised tariffs the first time around, and wanted to destroy healthcare. At the time there were Justices and Republicans in Congress that still had integrity and ethics so stopped most of the madness. Those people are now gone, and he got reelected. Who will stop him?

True, but 47 won with 31% of the vote, Harris got 30%, and 36% didn’t vote. If there are elections in ‘28 and the Democrats don’t put up a strong male candidate a lot of people won’t vote again, same as in ‘16 and ‘24. Sadly, a lot of people, many younger than me, won’t vote for a woman.

Let me see if I have this right, the DOJ monitors the official communications of publicly elected officials during an investigation and that’s wrong, but a president weaponizing the DOJ to falsely accuse and prosecute everyone who speaks out against him is okay. Doesn’t sound very democratic to me.

Almost, but not quite. We’ll get there when all of our former trade partners have finally had enough of the madness and make deals among themselves and exclude us. We don’t have the infrastructure or raw materials to be self-sufficient, so the country will collapse.

Sadly, we now have a government that does not conform to the dictates of reason and justice, nor to the rule of law, the Constitution, nor the norms of civilized behavior. Who is going to constrain them? Don’t say the voters because 37% actually approve of the destruction of America.

This is what I told people before the last three presidential elections. If you don’t like either candidate vote for the one least likely to destroy the country. In 2016 I didn’t like Hillary but voted for her because she had experience and wasn’t a narcissistic adulterous buffoon.

The part I find ironic is even the first time around he made it clear (after falsely claiming he would introduce a ‘better’ health bill) that he intended to eliminate the ACA and gut Medicare and Medicaid. He cares nothing for the American people, some of us recognized that the first time.

That would not apply to the current administration, as it ignores the law and laughs at the idea of justice, and Congress and the Court go along with blatantly illegal activities.
