I'm excited to announce that @vemetric.com is now Open Source 🎉

After a long period of thinking about this, and exchanging with others, I finally decided to operate Vemetric under an open-core model, making its codebase openly available

today I'm launching a free API to fetch favicons from any website 🥳

just pass the desired domain and retrieve the favicon in the best quality!

you can also resize and convert the image into different formats

it's using Bun & Hono, is open source, and easily self-hostable ❤️

but I‘m not sure if that’s the case for every lego alternative brand .. because lego also rests on its bug brand there are other alternatives that I think have at least same build quality and much more love to detail

I think with this particular alternative, it’s a analogy .. the blocks don’t fit smoothly and the building process isn’t as satisfying

I feel like I should update this stat number again

atm it shows the number of projects that tracked at least one event

but counting only projects that have tracked events in the past 30 days would be more appropriate instead?

these are the situations when I'm really happy that I decided to self-host Vemetric

of course problems can still occur, but mostly you're in control and able to fix things on your own

obviously you have to plan a bit different with two little children, and it might not be for everyone, but for us it was an awesome experience creating long lasting memories 🫶

yesterday was the last day of our 5 day family-trip to Barcelona .. what a great and diverse city!

we managed to pack in many different activities and thanks to the warm weather there in October, we could even visit the beach
