The locomotive was thereafter auctioned off by the GNR, which housed it, to a scrapper based in London. The bell was kept at a engine shed, and has been preserved, and can be seen at the National Railway Museum's open store room:

-however, already used the Westinghouse air brake, and as such the whole trip was a failure, only attracting two railways, which iirc didn't go with the purchase either. Ditching the locomotive in the UK and returning to the US, Eames would be murdered by one of his own employees
As such, the locomotive was sold to Lovett Eames, owner of the Eames Vacuum Brake Company, who took it for demonstration purposes of his brake to the UK in 1882. My model depicts the 1882-1884 condition, where it was modified to fit within the loading gauge. The UK-

This unique yet equally bizarre locomotive, the 5000th to be built by Baldwin, was originally for the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad. Built in 1880, the P&R lacked the funds to purchase it-

GREAT EASTERN RAILWAY, MASSEY BROMLEY'S CLASS 552 - Decorated; unfortunately a rather boring livery for a locomotive of this period

Tender lettering by @/foxyisinhell !
Built in 1882 by Kitson to the design of Bromley, the GER class 552 were an incredibly unusual design; looking almost foreign. They were overshadowed by the more successful Y14 class, and were quietly withdrawn between 1904 and 1906.

Additionally, I updated the Goods Green to be more period accurate; early Caledonian tender locomotives had the unusual perk of bearing their number and company's initials on the boiler.

hopefully will be making a bunch of private owner variations too

Following 1876, the 631s were gradually repainted into Brittain's Goods Black, and undoubtedly carried the livery for the rest of their working lives.
by the more popular Goods Black. As such, I wasn't able to find much information, let alone proper references for it. It's said that the lining was done to a style similiar to Neilson Works, and I've tried my best to replicate something similiar, but I can't guarantee it's 100% accurate. -
bsky.app/profile/dome... - A brief history

Prior to the appointance of George Brittain in 1876, the Caledonian seemed to have used a 'Olive-Brunswick Green' for their goods engines. It seems as though this livery has fallen into a lot of obscurity, overshadowed-

-with a drawback: An uncomfortable 'see-sawing' motion when the locomotive got up to speed. Regardless, the 631s seemed to have a decent lifespan, with all 39 members being withdrawn in the mid to late 1900s.
The class 631s were first built in 1874 to the design of Benjamin Conner; who designed them specifically with a short wheelbase to easily round the tight corners of the collieries in the Lanarkshire area, where they were deployed originally. This short wheelbase came-

It wasn't until 1870 that the NBR started building brake vans that weren't of the unfavorable 'Birdcage' design, this design by Thomas Wheatley, later improved by Drummond in 1881 set the ground dimensions for all following brake vans on the NB.

The 30T Well of 1865's primary purpose when built was to carry boilers, as such I've made a cool little boiler for it, company is fictional :)
