What about those that were members? Also let’s not forget the $1m Shopify granted to RubyCentral. Why doesn’t it return to the rubygems org and maintainers of that org includes a few more ruby-core people and works to align CoC’e and governance. Are the previous maintainers just out now?
We barely use word at all so probably not as helpful.
Just a little bit of Vue and little bit of json.
Is it robust? No. Is it easy to update? Slightly. Does it work? Yes. Is it better than 20+ html files? Yes. Am I proud of this dumb tool? Yes. I am.
Then each person gets matched to their user id in an internal tool and when they open their new profile page, it grabs the file, reads the template, finds the user info (by user id), fills the template then renders on page. Then there’s a plain+html copy button and a source code copy.
Built a neat little solution for company signatures today. Until now we just had a bunch of html files I made by hand. If we change the format, every file changes. Gross.
New system uses a json file with an html template and moustache placeholders and an array of data to fill in

And that’s 2600 keys down to…:7. Honestly there’s no way that many redis keys are needed. These are internal tools and a public one that needs no sessions.
Problem solving with ChatGPT is great. Found some rails/redis expires_at/expires_in misconfig that explains why redis keys never cleared (think we swapped redis gems at some point)
Unrelated, considering adding some redis cleaning web admin tools.
Herb has already helped pick up some markup bugs I’d not spotted yet! Thanks for the work you do.
“Well actually”’s at every turn. Essentially it’s a complex topic with various people and orgs doing things people may or may not agree with. Can’t wait for the Netflix mini series.
They’re all great Merlin. The goals/accomplishments one really struck with me.
I’m still catching up from July’s episodes, and am now interested in the documentary about the sub. So sorry @alexcoxfm.bsky.social @hotdogsladies.bsky.social. Glad to be back in the Powder Nation.
I’m way behind on listening to Do By Friday and it took me a long time to realise that I kept getting 5 min previews of the after show from their Patreon feed. And it took me even longer (over a month) to realise my sub ended cos my card got spoofed and the payment details changed. In April.

Not even an original idea in their heads.
> superversive (adj.) — Said of a person: one who seeks to uplift, ennoble, and inspire others, affirming meaning, beauty, and virtue rather than undermining them.

Let that be you.

I use sidekiq with Sinatra!
Quite a few repos adopted the 4 line CoC Ruby Core has. It all sounds pretty well intentioned. Yet somehow it’s incredibly divisive.
(May well have been the same inspiration).
Seeing a post thread basically about going back to master and doing away with CoC (while supporting the SQLite CoC and simultaneously acting in contradiction to it) just feels super objectionary. You can just support choice vs supporting antagonistic behaviour just to be antagonistic

Virtue signalling works both ways. Depends on your perspectives.
Markdown was literally built as a tool to easily mark up plain text for simple html formatting. It was made for Movable Type!
Man I’m just tired of the rampant hostility, name calling, “they’re worse” attitudes, hostility.
It’s OK if your css framework is not political. Your test suite doesn’t need to change names. Your testing tools can change its name.
But we can try to respect people. We don’t have to agree. Often we won’t. And with that we can each decide what is acceptable to us. And how we behave after that.
