I'll also frankly state that a lot of these discussions are motivated by anxieties around "who will and will not date me" and at the end of the day that is not something that will be answered by making everyone get on board with the correct theory to pass universal queer community bylaws.

Just ask.

like yeah you'll run into trans guys at the local dyke bar. if people are pleasant to be around you might find them around people they do not wholly share identities with. queerness is an axis of social solidarity but the rule of "just be chill" still applies.

me reading discourse about trans men in lesbian spaces and nodding respectfully before suddenly realizing I'M the trans man in lesbian spaces but I just don't think of it like that bc it's just like. "hanging out with friends" to me

“Israeli” ceasefires only ever apply to the other party. They’ll continue to kill whomever they want, whenever they want until they are stopped. They see themselves as occupying an altogether different moral plane than their enemies, like any colonizer.

I genuinely think Ari Drennen does not think of trans people who exist below a certain tax bracket, yet insists on generalizing her incredibly narrow and limited worldview to the experiences of a population pushed out of the formal economy worldwide.

I argue it from the position of bodily autonomy. No one knows better than me what to do with my gender, and trans existence is not some terrible cross inferior to cisness that only ppl who will definitely never-ever change their might should be allowed to have it

I obviously don't think transition needs to be permanent to deserve to exist. I think my transition was the best decision I could've made at the time, and it did help me then. And even if it was entirely negative, someone forcing me to go against my will on this wouldn't have helped

It's that defence for transition is built up on the basis of it being a permanent decision, so when there arises an instance of someone for whom it wasn't, it falls apart like a house of cards

IMO the main issue is that the concept itself--of someone transitioning and then changing their mind and transitioning in the opposite direction--is weaponised as an antithesis to transition. So the word being used doesn't really matter, because the issue is not linguistics
