Now do xG of competent footballers…..
I guess xG doesn’t care/count how good/shit the footballer on the end of the chance is….. like - our xG was 1.5 we did really well, yeah but…..
The 3 relegation lynch pins. Look what the rest of that side is doing now, says a lot…..
Just pass on next week, get okafor and James fit, then pass on the next 3 weeks while they regain their fitness to become useful again. Just in time for the next international break, then a Man City game. Great. 😩😔
Good as a sub a few times, back to usual now starting.
I suppose the problem is, what more attacking choices could he realistically make. Piroe for a centre mid? That’s it isn’t it? Problem is when you balls up defensively playing 100% into opponents hands, and bugger up a glorious chance, what else can you do. Concern for me, press isn’t working….
Going to need to be a LOT more ruthless going forward now. Bounce back soon needed, they will love sitting in and taking this 1-0
Just get the clean sheet, everything else is a bonus. Or time for DCL to make the leap. Set pieces I guess too…..🤞
Also, who is only using CT for rule in/rule out a single pathology? Like even for something a bit more binary like ? Leaking AAA, you’ve still a shocked unwell older patient with abdo pain, the CT is there for much more than just the aorta. Also, if there is “missed” cholecystitis is it that bad??
Okafor decent to a point, GG in positions but not given ball enough, Bogle will have better days. Calvert Lewin an excellent focal point but simply must find some composure in front of goal, we’d be top 4 if he’d had even average finishing.
I thought more of a mixed bag, though dropped off into second half and added so little it required replacement.
Big challenge to maintain these effort levels into the winter. Will probably be the key to survival. Okafor improving with fitness/games, need our broken players back, and some some how get Calvert lewin’s shooting boots on because they’ve been pretty poor by anyone’s standards so far
I think we did first half, then dropped our level until the winner. Notable that the long ball worked pretty well despite some giants at the back for spurs
I’d have literally left Brendan on centrally, that’s where we are at. Need Gnonto or James for that wide right or central 3rd striker positions (and left trying to get a goal instead of Harrison obviously!)
Bogle on right, and no one on the left as it stands. Not sure what the 3 strikers are going to achieve here.
3 strikers yet we’ve removed anyone who can cross it from the left, and Bogle’s deliveries today have been poor all day sadly, and of course no one centrally. Not sure….
We are competing, in the literal sense, and they don’t like it.
Spurs pace in forward areas is quite scary. Giving the ball away loosely must be avoided as fast breaks will eventually kill us.
It kind of fascinates me, the mind absorbed in a book, then being able to remember so little of them even soon after.
This. We can expect to compete in 30 of 38 games. Spurs scraped a point against someone we took apart, few are really terrifying now we are here.
Most annoyed about pathetic non free kick in build up to first goal, second one soft too. Encouraged by us finding our creativity against a decent defence, although same issues of chance conversion remain. Also not being swayed by Sunderland who are hugely over performing their exp goals against
Ideally/perhaps ultimately, it won’t rest on them, hoping that it pulls others with them. Several champo players have stepped up so far (the 3 defenders for instance, ampadu) but we need the very best from someone else like Gnonto/James/Aaronson as part of depth/subs etc
Quite. Was similar against the other 3 at least, we just elevated other areas against wolves (even if we caveat that it included 2 new players who made a difference which we used much less in other games). There certainly needs to be further improvement to avoid a huge scrap, but I’m confident.
