Remember the photo from the ‘50s of Sophia Loren leering at Jayne Mansfield’s overflowing cleavage? I’m praying that Ms. Loren doesn’t see this new photo—it may kill her!
Ironic that she’s flaunting her knockers at a “Power of Women” ceremony. I don’t think that was the intent of the organizers. Maybe she thinks she has the “power” to knock someone down by flinging those things to one side or the other.
Absolutely. I’ve had to resort to white listing. On an iPhone, there’s a “Silence Unknown Callers” setting that restricts the sounding of ringtones to phone numbers in your contacts list. Other calls will go directly to voice mail.
Steve Bannon is an example of hard-line “Accelerationism” that seeks to destroy the government entirely and create an anarchy state that’s up for grabs. I think Johnson, et al. want to be sure THEIR bread will be buttered and so they are taking a more measured approach to Accelerationism.
I think it could very well happen. They can blame the Dems for the suffering. They can delay adding another Dem to the House. Orange can order the Treasury to wire the unspent money to a shell company in the Cayman Islands. They can hasten death of people in need of govt assistance. And on and on.
I think we probably get an endorphin rush when we see a beautiful man, so all bets are off when that happens!
I’ve only recently learned that Sweet Charity is based on Nights of Cabiria, but watching Giulietta Masina in just the final scene made tears stream down my face.
These days, bankruptcy is almost a badge of “honor” thanks to Orangina.
Hot DAMN that’s a great word! 🤤
Ah, that probably explains it. The YouTube interface capabilities sometimes differ among various front ends, such as iOS vs. Roku vs. Apple TV. I’ve got a Roku, so thanks for discovering a way to skip YouTube ads!
Are you using a YouTube TV app?
I don’t get an Info button when an ad is playing on the iOS version of the YouTube app, or in the Safari browser running the web version of YouTube. I also clicked the horizontal three dots and there’s an option for Ad Preference settings, but none of them will block the current ad.
I wanted one so badly in ‘81, but I couldn’t afford it because I was in grad school and had to eat!
Despite all the kidding around we do for laughs, I think it’s nice that you’re not so jaded that you can still get flustered when an attractive stranger takes notice of you. 👍
I had, too until I watched the episodes many years later. It was a pleasant surprise the second time around like it was the first time.
Well, with straight guys it’s always possible, but it’s partially disturbing when gay guys do it.
Thanks, I recognize him now that you identified him! I didn’t know about his being transphobic and misogynistic. I think some gays pull up the ladder after they get theirs (in more ways than one). They forget that we can all be thrown overboard again and need to stick together.
Absolutely, certain key moments are still very funny. I jumped around to find the Howard and Ed episodes, and they still hold up as a reminder of how things were (or may be again, unfortunately). Vivian Blaine played their mother, and that’s still a plus for those scenes.
And an allusion to Stalin wouldn’t be so bad, either.
I was in college & watched it every night at 11 PM. The best episodes in retrospect had the gay couple, Howard & Ed, who were written with no stereotypical mannerisms whatsoever. I’ve watched episodes a few times since then, but for me they don’t hold up that well; especially the sheer # of them.
That reminded me that I had so many cold, unfinished cups of coffee on my desk that by the end of the day I could clog the sink drain in the lunchroom!
💯 As Liz Taylor said long ago, “There’d be no Hollywood without gay men.”
Wait—that’s a real person? I thought it was a joke meme.
