Every once in a while, a jump scare can actually work, to be fair--just, not very often that that's the case XD

I do enjoy Friday the 13th as a franchise, it was such a chaotic long-term production, and it took bigger swings than folks think

It's easy to say it was formulaic, but the variables did change wildly, around the core ingredients, and Jason's lore trajectory is awesomely nutso

Parts 2, 3 and 4, especially so--but the big one on part 2 is actually legit and earned, to me!

Not all of them do, though, at least not so much

Part 4 was the fave for ages, and Jason Goes to Hell (part 9) was screwily memorable XD

But yeah, Part 2 quietly climbed the ranks

The '09 remake was actually pretty solid in terms of Jason's look, and in combining 1-3 pretty neatly ^^

Part 6: the most self-aware, fun one
