While he was bad for both teams, he was wrong so often that it had an impact on the game. Hitters had to be in swing mode. ABS Challenge can’t come soon enough.

Jays are in tough against the Mariners, but they can pitch, hit, and field better than this. I expect a much better version of the team will take the field at Safeco.

I’m no Scouting Director, but between my regional scouts and cross-checkers, I’d want eyes on every top draft eligible collegiate pitchers’ starts.

The chief benefit of the ABS challenge system in the minors is that improved everyone’s knowledge of the strike zone. Granted, MLB pitchers have more movement on their pitches, but I saw far fewer egregiously wrong ball/strike calls at AAA and A-, where it was implemented.

Toronto took Texas HS SS Jordan Groshans two picks ahead of Logan Gilbert in the 2018 draft.
The slow-footed, who was said to look like a hitter until he left the batter’s box, played most of the season for the Royals AA affiliate.
