Day 2 observations:

I'll need to add more descriptions in future drafts; I'm not ordinarily a very descriptive writer, but you kinda need that in epic fantasy. I'm through copy and pasting old material from my false starts, so from here on out, I'll be writing new stuff, which is a relief.

Much more organized and focused than the last time I tried to work on it. And I'm happy to say that yes, I still know how to write something other than Sam Adams. One thing that helped is deciding to work on one storyline at a time, instead of trying to write the book in chronological order.

I'm working on an epic fantasy as we speak, and trying to keep it from sounding too modern, while also avoiding words like "prithee" and whatnot. There might be a few pop culture refs, as homages to some of the stuff that inspired it, but they'll probably be so lowkey I'm the only one who'll notice.
