I get the sense that our idea of farming isn’t quite correct - although there are mostly family run farms, many don’t sell directly to distributors. There are corporations or co-ops that do that. I wonder if the gov. payoffs go to farmers directly and/or to the businesses that sell their products?
There needs to be more attention given to the increased prices of health insurance that Americans will pay in 2026. The recent letters from insurance companies people have posted are astonishing.
There are large companies that buy cattle and grain from family farms and then distribute those goods. So this hurts the MAGA farmers but also the MAGA corporations that buy their products.
I looked up their website. They aren’t a farm but a corporation that sources its beef from cattle farmers in Wyoming. They’re also anti vax.
They’ve always gotten a blank check about this Jesus stuff- and they use it to silence people. I’m sick of it, too.
But it could be the lack of news coverage from major media. There were millions more demonstrating on Saturday than there ever were for tea party and other right wing protests. And then there’s the “both siding” and sane washing. The momentum always gets buried. Shame on the NYTs, etc.
But what if the coverage is suppressed?
You guys barely covered the largest protest in American history. Cowards.
And their courage. Salute!
And where are their protests?
I was thinking about all the demonstrations in the suburbs as well as rural areas that won’t get covered, but it’s across the board.
And how do you know people in those communities aren’t holding their neighbors accountable? The handful of dissenters in hostile regions might be doing everything they can to resist - and doing so courageously, because they are in the minority.
I mean, duh? (WTF is wrong with men, especially white men?)
I live in a neighborhood next to the Southern Baptist Seminary/Boyce College. I often walk the SBS grounds as part of my daily walk, and babies and toddlers everywhere with 20 something moms managing sometimes 3 or 4 kids under 4 years. They are busy procreating! The husbands usually are elsewhere.
Gutenberg’s press was invented late 1400s. Two things coincided with that… edition-able versions of the Bible (yay Jesus) and playing cards (yay Satan). 😂 (Also literacy starts to spread.)
A bit tangential, but the invention of the printing press made playing cards way more accessible, too.
The state of Indiana has a website for people to report social media posts of teachers and faculty. A Ball State University staff member was fired for saying she was horrified by the murder of CK but disliked the racist and sexist statements he made.
The ACA has helped many people. You might get laid off or your employer doesn’t provide insurance. A business closes down, and you’re 55 and need health insurance. I don’t know what stereotypes the GOP think about people who get insurance through the ACA, but they need a reality check.
Except those that hunt once a year and can’t shoot. My dad was a small town butcher and meat cutter. The deer that would come in for processing would have so much lead, he could barely get any meat from it. The meat industry is horrible and animals are aware. I stopped eating it long ago.
Hunting is murder. Big ag beef and pork is genocide.
How difficult would it be to pay the players a fair salary based on a percentage of revenue the league takes in and provide health insurance and a pension when they leave?
