Reintroducing myself a little!

Hi! My name is Sin, I'm a tabletop rpg designer, illustrator and layout artist from the Philippines! I've written for some incredible projects like Islands of Sina Una, Tales from Sina, Orbital Blues, and am currently a mechanics writer for Confluence RPG!

Anyway, I've babbled a lot. All this to say, wish me luck!

I ran a giveaway and I got a decent number of people join it and follow my page as a result. Lots of gimmicks! I've been trying to learn. Working hard!

I brought these feelings up to a friend who has a lot of experience with vending in this city and when I told her that I feel like my perfect customer is, unfortunately, not here, she nodded in agreement. It only made me confirm my biases more.

I'm setting up this fun keychain scoop at my table, where for 100 pesos (1.75 usd), you can use the scoop provided to try and scoop out a keychain from a har that is full of potpourri and dried flowers. Still, even with this gimmick, I feel my prospects are low.

The upcoming market is my first ever attempt at vending at a market in this city. I sincerely do not know if I will sell anything.
diwatamnl.bsky.social
In a span of about 3 hrs, I can make roughly 20 keychains or necklaces and earrings. That isn't a lot, but that's about as much as I can make before my hands start hurting and I start getting clumsy enough that I just keep dropping jump rings that disappear into the void that is my floor.

But, see, these are roughly the prices of other makers in the area. Any higher and I'll be overlooked. I know people always say that the right people will pay you for what you're worth, and that's nice, but I would also like to set a price for me that is 1) affordable, and 2) not at a total loss.

And just to cover this part: My prices are actually quite low. Both in the shops and at the market I am going to sell at, Some of my keychains will be selling for 150 pesos, no more than 250 pesos (that's 2.5 usd on the low end and 4.2 usd on the higher end). My necklaces and earrings are no better.

I mean, I'm not saying my stuff is AMAZING WOW INCREDIBLE MUST BUY, but I would have thought that something would have at least sold by now. And these shops are in high traffic locations in the city, too. Lots of students and young adults typically pass through.

I even made keychains that DO fit what people usually buy: cutesy, very decora, using these acrylic chunky beads. Nothing. I've been marketing my works like crazy on my other social medias, and just... nothing. The shops I partner with advertise, too, but... nothing!

my second concern: not a lot of people have a lot of money to spend in this city. It's very different in manila, where people will casually spend 5-8k (80-130 usd) at a market. Here, I've had my stuff displayed at 3 different shops in a span of four months and I've made zero sales.

But the problem is: a lot of people's tastes and sensibilities here in my city don't really lean towards fantasy. Cutesy, sure. Maybe a lot of sanrio type things. But I don't really see a lot of fantasy nerds around, much less be willing to buy my works at a market. Many of them don't attend these.

Let me explain: I don't think I have much of a market here in this city, if at all. To explain, the accessories and keychains I make are always a little fantasy-inspired. Embroidered moss and flowers as ornate pendants, for example.

Can I talk about my little insecurities about the upcoming art market i'm going to for a bit? Yeah? Okay, here goes.

I don't know if I'm going to sell much (if anything) at the market.

i have an art market on the weekend that I'm prepping for and i'm in that part of prep where it's stamping logos on all my shop tags, making sure I keep inventory of all my stocks, trying to figure out how to make things fit in my suitcase and asldkjf;aldkf jfc, this is a lot but i love it

Oh 100% haha I have had my stepfather stare inquiringly as I empty my room out into the living room just to give it a good clean suddenly out of nowhere, unprompted 😅 but if you tell me, "hey clean ur room on Sunday" I don't think it'll happen.

Hello, hello.
Earlier this year, after some medical appointments, my medicine costs hiked a lot. The job search has also not panned out yet. I've incurred a little bit of debt because of these expenses and would like to ask for some help.
