I’m not sure I know what a “horn whooping” sounds like, but I promise I’ll get the hell outta here if I hear a loud alarm of any sort.

That is, mentioned the Woods, not the Segal. On it. Thanks.
Only 'cause someone about 10 minutes ago mentioned it to me, so thanks indeed. Checking it out.
On a positive note, whatever bizarre (seemingly) Cloudflare-related issues I had been having on Disquiet.com seem to be not happening during Monday's AWS outage. Here's to 21st-century snow days. :)
I drafted a list of favorite records of the year, almost entirely ambient and/or abstract. There are a few hip-hop albums, too, by Earl Sweatshirt; Tyler, the Creator (aka Tyler who makes you use semicolons in lists like this); Little Simz; Aesop Rock. Any recommendations along those lines? Thanks.

There’s something brutal (and, to that end, Ballardian) to the user experience language one encounters on a daily basis.

Great opening act for Rolando’s Make Noise showcase
Barbershop update: The barber who usually has oldies playing was out for the day, the other barber was enjoying the silence, and who am I to argue?
Yeah, I gotta get more consistent
It’s a Tonex One. I got it (used) mostly as a highly portable (small; power and data over one USB-C cable) audio interface for guitar (to
computer).
Was holding out for number 1 but so be it
Yeah, I played hooky this week and went to the de Young Museum for the manga exhibit, which is pretty darn great
I’ve only really used modulargrid.net for Eurorack, so when I looked in the (guitar) pedals section, I was surprised to find things like an Akai MPC1000 and an Elektron Digitakt listed

I'm not, by any means, planning on getting a vanity plate — but if I were to ...
Have a good weekend. Open a window as soon as you wake up. Search an ebook of your favorite novel from childhood for the words “sound” and “listen” and note the results. Play an album very loud from the next room over. See you Tuesday — or maybe Wednesday.
That's pretty cool. I didn't realize that the Spanish edition of my 33 1/3 book on Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II was the first book in the series of Spanish translations. Some background on the publisher here (in Spanish).

My video playlist on YouTube of live performances of ambient music is up to 225 tracks. It is, apparently, 31 hours, 48 minutes, and 1 second in length.

Filthmilk, I have been helpfully informed!
Bonus points to the musician who set up across the street from the Autechre concert at the Regency and drew a crowd when the show ended, around 11:15pm
Got a good photo of Autechre's awesome show at the Regency
