NAFO Fella. I follow back. Make Russia Mongolia again. I block anyone who sends unsolicited private messages except for NAFO Fellas. I also only donate to a few trusted Ukrainian charities, so anyone who messages asking for donations is usually blocked.

If you are looking to donate to Ukraine this is one of my favorites. Wild Hornets makes drones and they show the end product and videos of attacks frequently, they are a trustworthy group to donate to. Their drones have destroyed over a billion dollars in Russian equipment.

The modern city of Tyre versus the ancient island city of Tyre. It used to be an island until Alexander the Great built a land bridge to get siege equipment close enough to destroy the walls. Over thousands of years silt has accumulated on his land bridge and made the island part of the mainland.
This mound in the middle of modern day Gaza was the actual location of the ancient city of Gaza during the time of Alexander the Great. He laid siege to the city as it was the only one along the coast to not surrender after he laid siege to and destroyed the city of Tyre.
My fascination with Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar not only stems from their brilliance in military strategy/politics, it was their capability to conduct campaigns over vast distances with large armies and keep them supplied in ancient times. Doing it today would be extraordinarily difficult.
No clue. Ukrainians can disable the main gun easily, after that they can't really do anything.
It's hard to dress right for working in the cold, too much and you sweat and burn up, too little and you freeze. Dressing in layers helps because you can always take some off but it's hard to keep your face and hands warm while working.
Really looking forward to the first Russians that try to get out of one of these that's on fire and ending up as a Russian kebab on all that wire.
The onset of winter always leaves me depressed, I despise being cold. We fortunately live in the easiest time in history for humans to be alive. I can't imagine what life was like just 100s of years ago when you had to prepare for every winter by storing food and if you didn't you'd starve.
Painting titled Bonaparte at the Pont d’Arcole. Napoleon grabbed the flag and tried to encourage his men to storm a bridge raked with cannon and musket fire. Men directly next to him were killed/wounded and the men didn't budge from hiding. He withdrew and sent them across in another spot.
On the way to the Senate he was passed a note that warned about the assassination and whom the conspirators were but he didn't read it, it was on his person when he died. A freedman also ran to his house that day to warn him of the plot but Caesar had already been lured to the Senate.
Julius Caesar famously received a warning from a soothsayer about the Ides of March but it's not the only warning he received that day. His wife had a dream he was stabbed so he refused to leave the house. He was lured to the Senate by a claim they'd let him declare himself king outside Italy.
Just the presence of non believers is a problem to them no matter what they do. Alexander embraced the ancient Egyptian religion, followed their customs, and kicked out the Persians. Napoleon tried to emulate that but feigning faith in Islam and not living by it was seen as blasphemous.
The Egyptians cared less about being ruled by the oppressive Mamluks than they did the christian/secular French troops who drank wine, dressed provocatively, and preached equality because the Mamluks practiced their faith. Had he given them REAL independence France could have had a powerful ally.
Napoleon went into Egypt to emulate Alexander the Great. He proclaimed himself a Muslim convert sent by Allah to liberate Egypt. After defeating the brutal Mamluks who controlled Egypt he expected to be treated as a liberator. Muslims hated the liberal French troops and declared jihad against them.
The thing is the equipment Russia turns into turtles is usually older crap because it basically becomes unusable as a weapon because the turret can no longer turn. It's essentially a transport at that point so the armor is thinner, especially on the bottom. Problem is mines are too heavy.
My favorite grok response for pro Russians bragging about Russia "smashing" Ukraine.
I still want to see drones that drop landmines in front of them, I've yet to see them do that and I'm sure it would work against the turtle tanks. The problem is most landmines are extremely heavy and require larger drones so it wouldn't be as cheap. Plus landmines have an arming time.
It is hilarious but I'm 100% sure it would be extremely effective. When you detonate anything near that wire it would either compact it or move it around. It would take numerous hits to even deal with the wire.
Meanwhile on Twitter. Lol. Pure delusion.
Before the 3rd Punic War Romans demanded Carthaginians hand over all their weapons and the children of 300 noblemen for peace which they did. Romans then demanded they destroy their city and move it 10 miles inland, they refused and the Romans slaughtered/enslaved everyone and demolished the city.
Roman mythology states Romulus and Remus were left out to die of exposure (a common way of killing unwanted babies at the time) and were suckled by a she wolf. She wolf in ancient Latin is "lupa", but it was also common slang for prostitute. Not such a cool story when it's a hooker who suckeld you.
Updated Russia oil revenue loss chart with the seaborne crude data that just released today. It's a HUGE hit to the Russian budget for now unless they find a workaround, 37% of the 2024 federal budget loss and that wasn't a particularly good year.
Rewatching this for the first time since about 1989, one of my favorite movies as a kid. Seeing the 80s in all its glory hurts, the world was a much better place back then. Before the internet Fked to the whole world. I miss the days of riding bikes all over and staying outside all day as a kid.
It would be awesome to see refineries and airfields deep in Russia hit. They'd never expect it.
FYI the Kanchurinskoye underground gas storage facility Ukraine hit and set on fire held around $500 million in gas. Half a billion dollars is an absurd amount of money and it supplied heat for around 2-3 million people across the region. Repairs/refilling will exceed a billion dollars.
