Last weekend was BorgerhArt, a yearly event in my hometown where artists open their studios and take part in a group exhibition. This year, 48 artists participated. It was my third time joining. To show how I create digital drawings on the iPad, I worked on this self-portrait. #digitalart #portrait
Unlike some of the other drawings in this series, the portal here is deliberately minimal—just a structure that resembles a lift door. I kept it simple so it wouldn’t distract from the strange interaction unfolding at the shoreline. This scene is more about the meeting than the passage.
Great! I'm a SF fan from my teenage years. Still reading. Just finished Ghostdrift by Suzanne Palmer. Space adventure but really original and with some surprises.
It's funny but I've been bitten now and working on a similar comic style portrait of my daughter (about the same age as my wife was in the picture). And that probably won't be the last I'll do.
Comic-style drawing of my wife, based on an old photo taken 40 years ago. These days you can ask ChatGPT for something like this, it will take only a minute. I needed a day.
Aglais io, the European peacock, or the peacock butterfly. In Flemish: Dagpauwoog 2025 Digital painting on iPad with Procreate Size: 24 x24 cm 750 dpi Max print size 60 x 60 cm
This is the last finished drawing I can post here daily. From now the frequency will drop to one or two a month. Number 4 for 2025 is coming along nicely but will take probably more than a week to finish.
Second piece of 2025, also an exercise in applying color in Procreate on the iPadPro. Proving not so easy, even with a lot of digital brushes available, the Apple Pencil is not a brush.
