Maybe he was a Villa fan, but was such a cunt even in those days that he wasn’t allowed in with the home fans?
Jenrick’s reminiscence of the fans all working together during the week suggests that he doesn’t remember Thatcherism either.
Am I alone in seeing something of Herr Flick in the post-Ozempic Jenrick?
Is it actually true that Farage’s security has been cut by 75%? After all, he claimed he’d been advised by the Speaker not to hold surgeries in Clacton for security reasons, which the Speaker's Office said didn’t happen.
Is Antifa even a thing in the UK?
“Anti-corruption campaigners and the Liberal Democrats are calling for fresh investigations into Russian interference in British politics…” is a (presumably unintentionally) funny opening line, implying that the LibDems aren’t particularly bothered by corruption.
Why has Lammy reportedly “backtracked”?
Credit to Sam, she was on to Morrissey before the rest of us.
He was picked, first name on the team sheet, but the selection was rigged by the radical left Democrats.
I’ve never met the bloke, but I think you’re being generous.
It would have been nice if Starmer had pointed out that there are fewer irregular arrivals to the UK in a year than there are people who go to watch West Ham every other week, and there is no evidence that they pose a greater danger to women or children than British people do.
I assume that “Robbie Gibb […] takes a keen interest in ensuring BBC impartiality” is meant as a joke.
Most of us are not scientists, so when a proposition is supported by an overwhelming majority of reputable scientists - vaccines are safe, climate change is real, taking paracetamol in pregnancy doesn't cause autism - we accept it and act accordingly. It would be irrational to do otherwise.
The article says the messages on the bullets were “anti-ICE”. Is this an exclusively left wing position?
“Is David Attenborough a serial killer? I have no idea. People thought Peter Sutcliffe was a law abiding citizen, and then we found out he wasn’t. Who knows?”
Stewart and Campbell were the same when they interviewed Hunt for their podcast. Hunt said (a) he knew the Tories would lose in ‘24 and (b) he wanted Starmer’s government to succeed, but was not once challenged as to why, in that case, did he lay such a cynical tax trap for them?
Defecting Tory MPs making this kind of announcement should be forced to do it while wearing a giant hotdog costume.
Also, I know you don’t own it anymore, but given the advances of the past 50 years since this kind of thing was common, the result of a match that ended before 10pm on Saturday being shown in yesterday’s Observer as ‘Late’ was flabbergasting.
Hey @theguardian.com. Any reason why today’s digital edition contains a number of pages from the 15 August edition, meaning for example that the subject of this double page feature abruptly changes half way through?
I say good for her. Despite the efforts of her partner to make the UK an inhospitable place for foreigners, she’s defied him to buy a house in one of the more deprived areas of south-east England, doubtless for reasons of her own that I expect will become clear at some point.
I know we all know Saturday’s results already, but the football coverage in the Observer digital edition is pathetic. Only two match reports out of eight PL games played, the barest of details in the scores section, and the result of a match that ended before 10pm shown as ‘Late’!
Maybe, but don’t forget Mandelson’s links with Palantir and Peter Thiel.
“You missed the dignified time to sack him. That was before you said you had full confidence in him at PMQs. Or preferably before you even appointed him.”
Why are those who defend Farage’s tax dodging on the grounds that he’s done nothing illegal not making the same case for Peter Mandelson?
