Hopefully it's fun, it certainly looks like it is from the trailers (though that *is* the point of trailers).

I've got another couple months to wait as I'll be getting a Switch 2 for Christmas and want this to be the first game I play on it.

I'm always of the opinion that something is someone's favourite thing.

And a lot of people actually like things with whimsy, which something like SLD: Dwight is in spades.

And yes - once in a rare while - the deck could get a T2 or T3 Archon of Cruelty, but that's by luck rather than crook.

And that is going to create a weird feeling, but it's not close to the normal play pattern.

In another case, I might find my 5 mana reanimator spell, or only find cheaper creatures to discard. Or neither at all.

The deck doesn't have any capacity to tutor creatures into the GY, they all have to end up there via draw and discard, or death.

This reads like a joke, but the deck is genuinely a bracket 2 build.

I've still drawn the Rakdos, drawn a way to discard him, and drawn a reanimation spell.

It just happens that this time, the reanimation spell cost me 2 mana so I got to do other development.

Day 13 - Pretty

Betty is only pretty petty, and not completely sweaty petty.

I started out with the name and went from there, I love the whimsy of silver border custom design, but generally struggle to design them myself.

Pretty pleased with the level of whimsy I got.

Players must announce all changes in phases during their turn (this doesn't include steps, Betty isn't a complete monster).

If a player doesn't announce a change in phase, each of that player' opponents gains 3 life and draws a card. (This only triggers once a game action is taken, or an ability is triggered in the phase).

If I'm honest, when I transfer this series over to my custom set, I'm likely going to re-flavour the lot anyway.

There are definitely some cool angles to make the effect feel more like a sequence though.

As probably the only person in the world who likes Swablu and Altaria, I couldn't see Swablu being a drake.

Swablu is notably not even a dragon, only Altaria is.

But maybe I'm overthinking it a bit cause Altaria is my favourite pokemon.

Day 12 - Sequence

Phoning it in today, put the prompt in the title and make what I want. Still a vague sequence mechanically, but not a core part of the design.

The thing I'm possibly most proud of with this one is somehow finding two pieces of art in a roughly similar style, that mirror each other so well.

By two different artists, no less!

This kind of thing is usually a big issue for custom DFCs, inconsistent art breaks the overall design.

I like the effects, I think they're flavourful, but maybe haven't fully considered the balance.
