Absolutely blown away by this review in this month’s Shindig! It makes me want to buy my own record!

Big books for sale, £5 each, pls DM for info
As I was reading this I had the sinking feeling it was going to end with the project getting shelved. Did it come out? (and huge congrats!)
Deffo worth it for the right guitar though, I’d never go back on twelves, it’s an essential part of the sound
but sometimes - like in this case where I’m setting a guitar up to flog it, I want something a bit more normal and cheap!
I got a massive box of them from some guys with a stand at sxsw who were so hungover they had to pack up and go home, so didn’t have to buy em for ages… I want to begrudgingly pay like, £6.99
Nick Drake swore by the oldest, deadest strings possible, and if it’s good enough for him… I’ve got a bass from 1959 that I suspect has the original strings on, and if they were ever changed it was pre about 1967 when it got bunged in a loft! Sounds great
I do! Pyramid flats on my electric XIIs, £35+ a set, have em on some six strings too
Not bought any regular bog standard guitar strings in a couple of years, and I see they are now 10 (ten) quid a set.

28 October was the date in 1893 when M R James first read 2 ghost stories to The Chit-Chat Club in Cambridge. I have copies of a book for sale that commemorates this occasion and the supernatural output of other club members.
Interested in "Ghosts of the Chit-Chat" (HB or PB)? Then drop me a line.
Yesssss! Great stuff, enjoy! I have no idea why they didn’t warrant a proper sleeve, but Supraphon were a bit funny like that. ‘Olympic’ first pressings have pic sleeves, later ones have generic front covers... all a bit weird
Yeah funny, but also probably realistic that they are all a bit old
Not sure! Good band though, keep meaning to investigate further
I thought maybe it looked like ZZ Top, but no matches on scogs…
Love that this is how I find out the clocks are going back
Cosine on this one, Waiting for Something is one of my favourite tracks ever
Zvonte Zvonky by Prudy is (the former Czech)Slovakian equivalent. Brilliant record that transcends my inability to understand the lyrics
(found in my bulging stack of 45s that I wish I didn‘t own)
Love this series of Beach Boys 45 reissues, such a fantastically appalling and inappropriate cover for ‘Friends/Little Bird’

This ferocious beast just demanded a Scampi Fry, licked it, then left it on the floor.
