Catching up with a bit of @katefoxwriter75.bsky.social & Nic King's magnificent podcast, Neurotypicals Don't Juggle Chainsaws.

This one's on glimmers, which (if you don't know) are the opposite of triggers.

Restoration and joy!

A lot of people don't know this!

(Note: in some places, like Canada, it's a bit more complicated, but authors still do get payments when their books are borrowed, at least sometimes!)
Authors receive a payment every time you borrow a book, audiobook or ebook from libraries in 35 countries. Those countries include the UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany to name but a few. Borrowing a book helps the author’s pocket as well as yours.

My background is in Biology and Ecology. I spent years studying the diversity of life. How sad that we openly celebrate the diversity of the natural world, but (as a society) find it so difficult to see the inherent beauty in neurodivergence. In the diversity of our own species.

Searching for images today of 'strong mother' for a clients SM project. First 5 images? Mother's with disabled children... *Sigh* Still so far to go.

I write a lot, and share sometimes. This week's random brain dump has a working title of 'Why Santa is Abelist'

I might be a tad grumpy this week. 😖🙃🫣

Definitely had enough of the behaviourist nonsense that's rife this time of year.

Listening to a parent today describing her 7yr old as 'strong willed' and needing firm boundaries... in response to kiddo 'refusing' to go to bed because of monsters.

When did we forget that children are humans too?

Poor kid just needs to feel safe.

Goodreads is owned by Amazon & there is an AMAZING alternative‼️

The StoryGraph is a black women-owned competitor to GoodReads with better UI in my opinion.
When you sign up you can even transfer your data from Goodreads to StoryGraph!
