“I came across this C-Drama about two people who meet in China. They meet, have a one night stand and get married in the first 30 minutes. The next 2.5 hours is the guy being super nice to the lady. They never share a bedroom.”

Me: “that sounds terrible”

“Of course you’d think that.”

You know, much like with Howard Stern, Alex Cooper is shockingly good at interviewing people. Her Halsey interview was great.

Friend of a work friend has a daughter missing at Camp Mystic.

I thought as I got older, stuff like this would get easier. Not at all.

Church is a wake today.

As it should be.

So much pain among so many.

Earnest question on my local FB board trying to recover: “Does FEMA provide funds to rebuild impassible roads to homes”?

Thinks: Would’ve been real convenient right about now if they hadn’t defunded FEMA.

Genuine course of the past 48 hours

Thursday: “it’s raining! That makes me so happy!”

Friday: “it’s still raining! How amazing!”

Today: “I think we’re flooded in.”

We’ve gotten 11” of rain in ~40 hours and exceeded our usual annual rainfall for the year.

"The Aggies and Longhorns are the biggest rivals in all of Texas, maybe all of the country."

I mean, Ohio and Michigan fought a legit war in the 1800s and The Ohio State University ("O-H!") has fired coaches that went undefeated except for Michigan.

But "You do you", Texans.

@thosedaysshow.bsky.social

*really* enjoyed the show on commercials. I knew the Juicy Fruit commercial was going to be there...it's so famous Family Guy did a spoof with Peter Griffin as the skier.

I really think you guys could branch out and do more general nostalgia topics.

When you've officially been in Corporate too long:

You type "Sweet Alias" into a group chat and the 26 years of HR training kicks in and you question what you meant by that.

"Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people."

#Hell is getting pretty icy, people. Because today I actually agree with #Musk.

This place is completely off the beaten path on US25 between Georgetown and Lexington, KY (near the KY Horse Park).

It’s just incredibly good. Like “better than most Texas BBQ” good.

“When was the last time you were up here?”

“Awhile back”

“…?”

“Okay. Christmas Y2K. 25 years or so.”

“That’s a long time.” Yeah. Too long.

“Eventually executive power will become completely uncontainable”.

Long slide we’ve been on since the Patriot Act.

We got scared, then we gave our rights away. Now we have a King.

1. Get the presidency
2. Pack SCOTUS with ideologues.
3. Get back presidency
4. Rule with imperator power by fiat.

Well. We almost made it to 250.

This period will be analogous to England in the late Cromwell era of the Commonwealth

It really is some experience to be in a Beatles/elvis like crowd where (mostly) women are absolutely losing their minds.

I may have heard some vocal cords shatter tonight.

On god, I’m walking behind a dad on Grand Avenue in Chicago and he’s like

“…so I have a software change order alright? But what I really need is better acceptance criteria”

Remember when people were farmers and welders?
