16. RETURN OF THE FLY. Bernds. 1959. For the second Fly sequel completist only. 1st "Uncle Vincent" film this year, but not a great one. The big Fly head is cool though, especially when it thonks into the scenery. #31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
14. HUMAN EXPERIMENTS. Goodell. 1979. Watched for two reasons: It stars Linda Haynes from ROLLING THUNDER in one of her final films, and Geoffrey Lewis saying, "Potatoes." An ok mish-mash of many an exploitation film. Bonus: Honorary Mention UK "Video Nasty" . #31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
13. THE UNKNOWN. Browning. 1927. 1000-faces-yet-2-limbed Lon Chaney chucks knives and hearts at an unrecognizable Joan Crawford in a pre-Freaked Browning sideshow body horror. Run on sentence, run on. #31daysofhalloween#31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
11. BLACK SABBATH. Bava. 1963. A good time to go back to where it all began. Trio of terror tales oozing with color and atmosphere. The original Italian version is the way to go--if you want to hear Karloff just watch the Grinch. #31daysofhalloween#31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
10. THE FLY II. Walas. 1989. From the telephone of Mel Brooks...the needless sequel instantly wilts in the shadow of the original, but detatched could pass as a gnarly standalone B-movie. Eric Stoltz stars Marty McBrundlefly. #31daysofhalloween#31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
9. THE CAT AND THE CANARY. Metzger. 1978. Charming British spooky whodunit made by a guy who really, really didn't normally make these kinds of films, nudge-nudge. #31daysofhalloween#31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
4.THE DAMNED. Losey. 1962. A British biker gang with their own far-out theme song led by a young & tweedy Ollie Reed, chases a hapless American all about town. Somehow, they trip over a military which, alas, does not have a far-out theme song. #31daysofhalloween#31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
3.TO THE DEVIL...A DAUGHTER. Sykes. 1976. Late-stage Hammer Films, starring Christopher Lee as a defrocked priest (still wearing his frock) and Richard Widmark as the only Midwesterner in England who can stop him from making the title happen. #31daysofhalloween#31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
2. BRAINSCAN. Flynn. 1994. 30 years ago, “Virtual Reality” was the new fear of choice.Slightly less so was the "Demonic Interactive CD-Rom,” but here we are, complete with a Faux-Freddie,who looks like all the facelifts in the world put together. #31daysofhorror#31daysofhorrormovies
He was in the first movie I ever worked on back in 1995--the first film set I was ever on. I remember him being very kind, professional (and patient) to us idiot 21 year old film students. All whilst holding a big damn cane sword. Sorry for your loss.
