Comic pages on average take me a good 7 or 8 hours from sketch to finished colours, on GOOD DAYS WHEN IM DOING NOTHING ELSE. Lately day I spend two hours or more just packing etsy orders/taking them to the PO. Art takes TIME as well as mental stability lmao Both of which are infrequent for me

Thats why I charge 100usd per page and even that is just 10 bucks an hour lol

I'll keep repeating it til' I'm blue in the face - making comics is actually an exceptionally difficult task. I'm quick as hell but each page I draw represents about 10-20 hours of work from writing to final output. I deserve to be paid for that work.

I did the right thing by getting flu and covid shots yesterday and now im suffering the from the flu one... I dont usually get the flu symptoms they warn about but it hit me like a truck 😭 i feel so sore and hot lol

the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now

Yknow, if you go to art college for anything, at least go to get torn apart and/or praised by other artists in person every week in critique, so you can get better. Not online. It really does something in your brain when someone tells you face to face what they do or dont like about your work.

This is 10 years after I graduated btw... I had classes in drawing, photography (with a dark room thats probably long gone), painting... and there was a ceramics class and a sculpture class. Just gone lol. All gone. Everything crammed into one or two optional courses to meet a requirement.

Art is so important to me. We need to bring back the idea that its important to society and culture.... like, half the art classes I tooknwere being cut from curriculum right after I left HS, and the funding of my state college art department was being slashed every year I was there...
