We couldn't afford a computer until much later, but my cousin had an Atari 800XL in the mid-1980s, and we tried writing our own Zork-style text adventures in BASIC. I can't recall if that was before or after I would have used (probably) an Apple IIe ca. 1985 in a Philadelphia public schools program.
I'm curious, peeps: what was the first computer you can remember using?
The first computer I would have used would have been the BBC Micro at primary school, but the first computer we had at home was a Commodore 64.
