The UN chief last week proposed a 2026 budget that would cut nearly 1/5 of staff. Experts warn that the crisis will still get a lot worse unless urgent steps are taken. Otherwise, the UN will be in a "liquidity crunch, maybe close to insolvency" by early 2026.
