International law bureaucrat on disability leave - views my own - spouse, parent, dog owner, more than a little overwhelmed but still in good spirits and grateful.

That is the youngest face I have seen with a thousand yard stare.
Procedural point - external actors do not file cases at the ICC, neither states nor civil society organizations. Although this is what their press release says, perhaps it might be more accurate to say that they want the ICC to investigate the matter ... ?
There are also some interesting parallels in serialized novels in weekly publications - Dickens got his start that way in the UK, and around a hundred years ago in Japan so did Eiji Yoshikawa, who wrote some excellent historical novels in serialized form in the Kodansha magazine...
Reminds me slightly of Mickey Rourke in that early Iron Man film, not entirely healthy....
I definitely recommend lying down, whimpering, screaming or doing whatever helps. Dark room, warm light screen, whatever helps. Full sympathy with the pain and discomfort.
Frozen pork and shrimp dumplings ....
Protect your wrist, I hear that much signing is really hard. Looking forward to the release.
Interested in your views on the possible use of the Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act - would love to see it but I consider it very unlikely for several reasons ....
There is a slight resemblance to Feathers McGraw from Wallace & Grommit - but more confused ....
If I had to make up a word I would use nonecimate, but no actual word exists as far as I am aware...
No disagreement here. I'm thinking of options should the negotiations fail or go entirely sideways once the matter reaches Trump's desk. It might be useful to have indirect involvement and infrastructure in place that could be reworked into something sensible at a later date.
If GoC is unable to negotiate a reasonable deal or Trump insists on charging some extortionate sum, we should graciously decline to join and instead offer to rent them space for radar installations, and share some of the data.
Hound mix, but still ..... this is Shadow, and she is lovely !
Ouch.

You are my worst punning nightmare. And I am,

Yours,

Umm, your ALT text needs … adjusting. First reaction was - you’re doing WHAT, second reaction was - nice forest.
For what it’s worth, our Foreign Service language courses were for Farsi, not Persian.
We used to call it Peking, now it’s Beijing, same change Turkey > Türkiye. There seem to be two valid approaches to rendering foreign language names in English, not sure whether one is inherently more correct.
I always like to remind myself that if I am typing out my inner thoughts, I need to tell my fingers to stop, my lungs to breathe deeply, and my soul to seek a moment of equanimity before having a good think about what I will do next.
The Anne Leckie Ancillary series is good too, sci fi but light on the techiness. Legends and Lattes is almoooost a mystery, if you squint at it.
I am woefully ignorant of the Canon of this Church, we'd have to consul Guitar Bishop John.....
The Church of the 36 String Guitar, very cool.
Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. Audiobook version is stellar.
