Small businesses keep Loudoun’s economy strong. Serving as the Chair of the Virginia Small Business Commission has shown me how vital they are, if you’re able, shop small today. #SmallBusinessSaturday #ShopLocal

What an amazing, amazing evening with friends and community members to celebrate the elevation of Pastor Michelle to Bishop!  It was an honor to be asked to speak at your Consecration Ball — so proud of what you’ve accomplished and look forward to what we can achieve together.

During these difficult times, it’s always so refreshing to join organizations, such as NEST4US, who work year-round to support community members most in need. This weekend we recognized all the volunteers who make these efforts possible - THANKS!!

Friday night the Loudoun Delegation recognized Pastor Michelle Thomas’ consecration and elevation to the role of Bishop. As a pastor, she has made an indelibly mark on the Loudoun Community - can’t wait to see what new levels the Bishop will lead us to achieve.

Started the week with an informative morning coffee with members of the ADAMS Center to discuss the recent elections and the upcoming session. 😊☕️ The community’s input is so valuable as we are now less than 60-days from the 2026 Session.

Congratulations to LGBT+ Democrats of Virginia endorsed candidate @deldavidreid.bsky.social on their victory! In this historic election, voters elected them to carry out the vision of Virginia being a place of economic opportunity, justice, and freedom for all.

Hard to believe yesterday’s Topping Out Ceremony for the $75M state-funded NoVA Science Center began in 2019, with me using sticky notes to ask for $2.3M in planning funds. By 2027, it’ll be VA’s largest investment in Loudoun County — bringing STEM learning to 300K+ students across the region.

Today, we honor the men and women who put service above self.
Their courage, commitment, and sacrifice have strengthened our nation and inspired generations to give back in their own communities.
To every veteran, thank you for answering the call to serve. 🇺🇸

The fight for fair representation doesn’t stop at Virginia’s borders.

In my most recent Substack I discuss how Republican gerrymandering in other states threatens voters here at home and what steps Virginia can take to ensure balance, not bias, in our maps.

Stopped by the Russell Branch/Ashbrook precinct and met some Ashburn Elementary students selling baked goods. They asked me to sign my name and were so excited to meet someone “famous” — moments like that make Election Day extra special. 💙🍪

Look who we saw at Dominion Trail Elementary — Marlou Svenson and a Broad Run senior who’s been volunteering on Election Day since she was 12! 💙
At Marblehead, we met a first-time voter, love seeing our democracy in action! 🗳️

In 1987, as a new Navy Intel Officer, I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. And our Constitution does NOT provide for a 3rd term — full stop.
Analysis: Why Trump needs to keep the third-term talk going | CNN Politics
President Donald Trump is still talking about trying to seek a third term in 2028, despite that being blatantly unconstitutional.

In between being in Richmond on Monday & Wednesday, I stopped by Pack 1483 at Hillside ES to talk about the three branches of government, campaigns, & how a commitment to service inspired me to run for office. Thanks to the Scouts, parents, & Pack leaders for a great discussion!

As a member of the Privileges & Elections Committee, I voted to let Virginians fight back against Republican gerrymandering across the nation. Republican outrage is hollow & hypocritical after 20 years of partisan maps. Democrats have said enough & are ready to defend democracy.

As someone who grew up poor in the mountains of Virginia and knows food insecurity first-hand, it's time for the Republican led Congress to return to Washington, save healthcare, and make sure people don't go hungry.

Appreciated the conversations yesterday with the Loudoun Young Democrats and the @vayd.bsky.social visiting from across the Commonwealth to canvass for @johnmcauliff.bsky.social. Young people staying engaged in civic life is essential to a strong and healthy democracy.
