Who do I know on here who has hearing aids? I’m two weeks in and it’s driving me mad. How do you get rid of the fog in your (no aided) other ear? How do you stop the ear tip from making your ear the itchiest thing in the world? Thanks.

I popped over one Saturday night when I found myself at Westfield. There was nothing going on in any of the BBC bits. No one in any of the flats that I could see and no atmosphere whatsoever. Very depressing indeed.

What’s the worst email ever, and why is it the one from EVRi to say they’ve got your parcel …

The theme for the pilot of Yes Minister is utterly bizarre. As is Only Fools and Horses (although that one *might* have been used for all of series one … I can’t remember …)

A wonderful article summarising the gentle genius of our live continuity announcers

Kindred spirit if ever I saw one
Highland cattle are famous for their ability to "disco nap". Normally these brief, efficient sleeps will last between three and twenty minutes, deploying a variety of objects as pillows, including moorland boulders, cars or any particularly large dog or sheep who happens to be nearby.

BBC World also used this to distribute details of commercial breaks to partner broadcasters, although the display was configured slightly differently. There was a separate one to display the schedule for South East Asia opt-outs, which was still fairly complex until the early 2000s

Why are domestic printers the singularly most annoyingly painful things to use? They have one job. And they seem to ignore me all the time.

All this talk of Rapture by Americans … weird … I have no idea what it is. I must be feeling how they all feel when us Europeans bang on about Eurovision.

The sound is the Radio 3 stereo mix nowadays and I believe has been for some years. They opted for 25psf with 1/25 shutter (according to @stephen-neal.bsky.social ) for some reason this year. I must admit it didn’t seem as noticeable on the Last Night, but the first one I watched looked really odd.

I was SO sceptical that Bohemian Rhapsody was completely inappropriate for the Last Night but that was sensational!

The glass walkway between those buildings was “The Bridge Lounge”. It connected the buildings of the main and restaurant blocks. It ended up being a training room. The building at the very bottom of the restaurant block next to the roadway ended up as TC9 for CBBC.

Today’s irk was triggered by the sheer number of idiots standing blocking the gate line at the Elizabeth line, while trying to find their credit card in their phone wallet. For the love of all that is holy, do this somewhere else rather than actually at the gate line … and get out of the bloody way

Some changes to the BBC One Bulletins tonight, which we hope have improved the overall look and feel and made it look less stark. Evolution rather than revolution but IMO much better.
