Never ceases to amaze me how Roberto Martinez always seems to fail upwards. Utter fraud as a manager. Portugal squad capable of wining World Cup but won’t with him. Utterly incapable of making the big decision and dropping Ronaldo. Happier placating him rather than doing what’s best for the team.

Amorims stubbornness is an issue. Not advocating his sacking in any way but at times it seems his need to be proved right (in terms of system & player selection) is more important to him than being successful. A blind man can see the issue with team formation and also his refusal to start Mainoo

Think Amorim has misstepped and created this situation by saying Mainoo was competing with Fernandes for a place in team. He (KM) clearly feels he should be playing more(correctly) and feels this won’t happen as Amorim won’t drop BF. Situation made worse by fewer games this season.

Binging Ugarte on when chasing the game was a strange decision imo. De Ligt, Mbuemo, Cunha and Shaw in second half the pick. New goalkeeper badly needed and a Baleba type midfielder. Lots of positives.

Bruno Fernandes is clearly a talented player but far too indisciplined positionally. Not sure where he fits in a 343, lacks the athleticism to be one of the 2 holders, and hasn’t the pace to play in the wide forward position.

Good from Hojlund, Mazraoui & Ugarte, Garnacho in parts . Diallo & Shaw improved things but thought Mainoo would’ve got minutes tonight. It’s a win, move on.
