After 30 days away I was surprised by the number of moths in the garden, 141 of 22 species, unusual for this time of year. The best were 2 White-speck, a Scarce Bordered Straw, Radford’s Flame Shoulder and Dark Sword-grass. Some migrant birds about as well inc. Goldcrests, Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps

We’re at the Portalet pass between Spain and France. Yesterday we came across a Lammergeyer breeding site on the side of the mountain opposite. Today we took a hiking trail for 2 km up the mountain for a closer look. Hopefully some photos later
The pair of Lammergeyer were coming and going bringing nesting materials to the cave. Also food passes The nesting cave centre of photo. Not many other birds about, Griffon Vultures, Red Kite and lots Black Redstarts. Can’t fault the view though
