This road sign photo was taken on Highway 209, heading south out of Hot Springs, NC. The nickname for this stretch of road is The Rattler, and is a famous, twisty mountain road known for scenic views, challenging curves, creeks, and small-town charm, winding through Pisgah National Forest along the Pigeon Rivee, and ending near Lake Junaluska where you'd connect to Asheville via I-40 or other routes, offering a beautiful, spirited ride with history and nature.
