I was really interested to hear about the #SaferforSummer campaign and #OpPalos

I look forward to working with Inspector Murray in the future.
It was great to meet our new @manccop.bsky.social Inspector for Central Oldham.

Thank you to Inspector Katherine Murray for meeting with me and doing a walkabout in #Higginshaw to follow up from the community meeting I held earlier this year.
I will be taking their thoughts back to my colleagues and I'll be back to hear more from our Oldham primary school heads very soon.
When I asked about the impact of #childpoverty on this there were some moving stories of teachers paying for food and even clothes for kids.
I was particularly struck by their assessment that our children and young people are struggling particularly with their mental health. And that this increase in student 'complexity' isn't fully recognised.
Last week I attended Oldham’s secondary schools headteacher forum hosted at Blue Coat School.
Great to see groups like this encouraging people to stay active, connected with their communities and well informed. All things that help reduce risk factors associated with dementia.

As the co-chair of the #DementiaAPPG and the first MP to be trained as a #DementiaFriendsChampion and the carer for my late mother who had #AlzheimersDisease it was good to share my knowledge and experience with the group.
It was lovely to speak to the women at the Greenhill Primary School #WomensChaiProject Thank you so much for inviting me.
I understand. We can speak when you're ready.
Thank you to everyone who attended and to those who donated to the Alzheimer's Society; their work helps raise awareness about dementia, the research into the different brain diseases that cause dementia, and the therapies and care we need to see developed across the UK.
This was my 7th annual #oldhammemorywalk which forms part of the Dementia Friendly Oldham campaign.
I look forward to their concerts ever year!
Every year they come back to Oldham to do a concert in their mum Costella's memory and to raise money for Dr Kershaw's hospice.

They do us proud, contributing to our local national and international cultural life!

Eliminating poverty and reducing inequalities are why I became a MP.

I will continue to fight for fairness and social justice for my Oldham East & Saddleworth constituents.
Today is the #UN Day for the #EradicationofPoverty.

Poverty is not inevitable - it is a consequence of the political decisions. Between 2010 and 2024 poverty across thecountry, and for children and disabled people in particular got much worse.
Do you mean why does it appear the Govt are cutting back on Access to Work?
A glimmer of hope as the #Gaza ceasefire begins after months of diplomatic efforts behind the scenes. We look to the next phase of this process and the building of a lasting and just peace www.debbieabrahams.org.uk/gaza-response/

If just 5% of both under 25s and over 25s move into work, this will generate approx £20bn of savings.

@labouruk.bsky.social government are right to do more to get young people back into work and programmes like work well need to be ramped up.
The #workandpensionselectcommittee commissioned analysis to estimate the savings and financial benefit of Universal credit (UC) claimants currently unemployed or economically inactive returning to work through employment and health support programmes.

To everyone involved in making this, I just want to say how beautiful the quilt is and that your loved one's memory lives on.
