If they were 13 years old, maybe. Maybe even if they were 17. But no, they’re adults now and should bear the consequences of their callous behavior.

The students perform the exams, but they’re checked by the teachers who are experienced optometrists, so I have confidence that they are professional and accurate.

Fortunately, we have a school of optometry here in St. Louis. Last year I got a very thorough standard exam plus some extra tests and insurance covered it, plus the school gets good deals with glasses manufacturers, so the cost was covered except for a bit, which I was able to use my flex card for.

Now that I’m on Medicare, I still have that enrollment period agony, because I have Medicare Advantage.

I have an expensive eyeglass prescription, which regular Medicare doesn’t cover. Until our government considers eyes, ears, and teeth as part of the human body, I have no choice but Advantage.

The last enrollment period I had ADA, I was informed that my plan’s cost would almost double - to a price I could not afford. Since it was less than 6 months before I’d qualify for Medicare, I chose the cheapest possible plan and prayed I wouldn’t have any major illness before Medicare kicked in.

When I had insurance through ADA, every year around this time I had to spend hours comparing the changes in the plan I had chosen with other plans to see which was the best deal. Every year I wondered why health care funding had to be so complicated.

Maybe today’s enlistees are a placeholder for the army of clones/drones they wish to employ in the future.

No leaks, no disobedience, no protests. They’ll do whatever they’re programmed to do. No issue with hairstyle or facial hair, either, because they’ll all look the same. Probably like Hegseth.

That said, I think Republicans are controlling the weather (😂). We’ve been in a drought here in St. Louis for 2 months, but the weather forecast for Saturday is 75% chance of ☔️. I might still attend but just stand under a building awning the whole time.

I think it’s worthwhile. If nothing else, participating confirms you’re not alone. It encouraged me the times I’ve been to see how many other people are angry about what’s happening.

Curious what you mean by "not very good at" lying. IMO, Trump is also not good at it. He lies in public and it's so obvious that a quick internet search will confirm it.

The brand is Secura. It was a gift , and I think it came from Amazon.

It has 2 cups - 1 for hard spices and 1 for herbs, and they’re removable for thorough washing, which is great because I don’t always want my spices to taste like coffee. Some grinders are one piece, so the cup isn’t submersible.
