My latest piece → As I have learned from well-informed sources, #Ukraine received its eighth IRIS-T SLM fire unit as part of Germany's continuing military assistance two weeks ago. This further strengthened the capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force.

No info but I would assume these are standard issue vehicles.

This agreement likely goes back to the announcement made in late May 2025 by the German MoD after the Ukrainian President Zelenskyy visited Germany. Back then, the German MoD already pledged funding for the Ukrainian military command and control communication system.

The Ukrainian MoD and the German MoD have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of digitalization of the Ukrainian defence sector for 2026–2028. The agreement provides additional financial resources for key projects of the Ukrainian MoD like DELTA, Army+ and Reserve+.

I don't think you can really compare them. The Skyranger 35 is much, much more modern (which has its upsides and its downsides), uses different ammunition and so on.

As already known since the 9th of September, Rheinmetall will deliver Skyranger 35 SPAAGs mounted on the Leopard 1 chassis to #Ukraine. The contract is worth a three-digit million sum and is “paid for” by an unnamed EU country through the windfall profits from frozen Russian assets.

Very recently, two universities in Mykolaiv received each one Volkswagen Multivan from the German federal state of Lower Saxony to be able to transport students with special educational needs. At least part of the donation was most likely financed by the EU.

This contract has not yet been officially confirmed, but I'll try to get official confirmation ASAP for you and for me, so I can add it to my database.

According to the Forces Operations Blog, the German government has contracted Thales Belgium to deliver 30,000 unguided 70mm rockets and 3,000 guided 70mm rockets to #Ukraine to rearm a few modified Mi-8 helicopters.

However, the order has not yet been officially confirmed. Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks also declined to comment to the FAZ on the contractor. However, it is quite likely that the German government is behind it.

The German government has already delivered more than 340 Mercedes-Benz Zetros trucks in various configurations to the AFU and civilian bodies. According to FAZ research, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks has now received an order to deliver more than 1,000 additional vehicles to #Ukraine.

This could (!) already be part of the funding for the production of Ukrainian-made medical equipment announced by Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the German Ministry of Defence in late May 2025.

According to the German Embassy in Ukraine, the German government financed and carried out the handover of four armoured ambulances (for CaseEvac purposes). The medical equipment and armour originated from Germany, while the final assembly was carried out in #Ukraine.

The Air Command West has released new footage of one of the two Skynex air defence systems officially supplied by Germany to #Ukraine (at least one more should have been delivered by now), which shot down a Russian Shahed loitering munition on the 5th of October.

I've just published my latest translation video on YouTube! This one shows a German/Dutch/Danish-delivered Leopard 1A5 MBT in service with the 2nd Tank Battalion of the 5th Heavy Mechanized Brigade during a training exercise somewhere in #Ukraine.

“Fire unit” is the technical term for what you would call a full system. Fire units delivered by Germany consisted of between six and eight launchers (+ the remaining components).
deaidua.org
It has been known since the initial announcement in early August that the delivery will be completed before the end of the year. More precisely, on the 1st of August, the German Ministry of Defence announced that deliveries would be completed within two to three months, i.e., by November.

A brief clarification, as the “news” that Germany will deliver two MIM-104 Patriot fire units to Ukraine by the end of the year is currently being widely reported. While this is certainly great information in general, it is by no means news.

Rare off-topic post of mine: I would like to draw your attention to the excellent work of my colleagues at @tochnyi.info. After months of intense work, we have finally published our interactive map that allows you to follow the ongoing “human safari” in Kherson in detail.

PS: I found the video on a smaller Ukrainian TikTok channel, which is why I turned off the TikTok handle display and blurred the soldier in the vehicle to protect his identity and the original source.
