Hémianopsie and tinnitus.

This one was a blast to make; hope you'll like it as well :)

Thinking about this post again; I think I'll take part in portfolio day next month, for once

I just want to quit my job and make a little 2.5d platformer that looks like this, but unfortunately, that's not how it works... :(

I love working in 3D, actually?????

I'm still going through Lightning Returns, and I'm pretty torn on it. It just feels like nothing is happening at all despite me finishing two main quests so far.

On the other hand, I really hope the ending with the "let's create a new world" plot point will be funny... please please please please!

I launched King's Field to show people the Playstation's mind-boggling effects and they were right, I am mind-boggled because there's one more of them than last time

so either they can do skeleton-mitosis or this IS mind-boggling
A screenshot of an early, somewhat crude-looking first-person PS1 game. It features three yellow skeletons in a room below the one where the player is located.

I know I might not really have the luxury of just waiting around due to my AVM, so I'm just crossing my fingers that someday, I'll be able to work on all of my silly ideas without the stress caused by everything else.

Or at the very least with said stress being less prevalent, hahaha

I wish I had infinite time to draw, model and all that stuff.

I wish I could flesh out my little worlds instead of keeping them in my mind.

I hope I'll be able to share them with you someday, whether it's IsoMetro, A Normal Wednesday, Pappala Story or Through Everending Mountain.

And while I'm at it; I'm extremely happy with how I do lineart now! It all started with a small "jaggies" experiment, but I'm happy I stopped looking at clusters in outlines as a "mistake" and am instead fully embracing them now

Here's a lil experiment to mix jaggies in my usual process to see if it could lead to interesting lineweight results! (second pic is without thick outlines)

a simple portrait of a demon character with messy orange hair. Their skin has a blueish tint and they're sticking their tongue out This picture is the exact same, but the additional outline isn't present, which makes the use of jaggies more obvious

Today's progress! Featuring an alternate palette for funsies as well (again, colours are anything but final!)

🤗
A pixelart of an anthropomorphic character with long, rounded-off "whiskers" and similarly round hair. Their ears are located atop their head and are somewhat diamond-shaped. They're wearing some kind of oversized hoodie and are holding an umbrella in their right hand (left-side from viewer's perspective).

You can see a subtle smirk on their face.

The pixelart is present twice; one instance is using a blue and yellow palette, while the other one is using a pink and green one!

I think I'll eventually land on something, but the blue palette is what I usually use for 4-colour pixelart before choosing colours, and using a yellow as a fifth colour is a good way of having decent contrast with it!

The other one is a quick exploration using pink for the base :)

this takes a whole lot longer than stuff like my togore/hornet sprites, simply because I put a lot more work in the details and making sure everything looks great, especially at 1:1 res.

speaking of which, tip from meself : ALWAYS look at your 1:1 sprite when doing antialiasing/lineweight work :)

Still thinking about the bookshop clerks who saw me buy like... 8 of them in a week...

Each and every time I read a new volume of Witch Hat Atelier, it destroys me a bit more inside but gosh, I just cannot stay away from such a beautiful manga

If it wasn't for one of my siblings already getting the grimoire editions, I'd buy those in a heartbeat, even if I already own the normal ones

sometimes I truly have the worst ideas (adding an umbrella to a pixelart piece)

The tea party and ??? Were especially fun to read; I expected some kind of small "non-canon" interlude because of Battler's first sentence but ooh boy, it was way cooler than I imagined
deadkat.bsky.social
All I want to say is thank you for getting me to continue reading it because I could not drop episode 1 after starting it up again! I'm taking a small break and I'am at the start of episode 2, but I seriously cannot wait to read more :)

Thinking of it as looney-tunes adjacent improved my experience tenfold; I can't wait to see what nonsense I'm going to have to deal with

Yeah, I tried DS2 a while ago and put it down because it frustrated me a bit, but now that I'm going into it as a funny game with silly tricks, I'm having an amazing time with it.

A smooth boulder slightly grazed my back and killed me, how can I get mad at that!!!

opinion on DS2 (my first souls game) so far : it's really funny because of how stupid everything is. There are five guys waiting for you at every corner and sometimes everything explodes and it blows your eardrums out.

I'm having a great time :D (I beat the tree giant and the eagle guy)

every time I think I lost the ability to make pixelart, I'm pleasantly surprised by the opposite realization :)

The drawing on the right is the original random sketch; as for colours, they still are in progress, but I wanted to use five for once!
a screenshot of a pixelart character with blue, rounded "whiskers" and hair wearing an orange sweater. The pixelart is incomplete, but they're holding what looks like an umbrella.

On the right, the same character can be seen, but it's a black and white sketch instead
